Has anyone been to a wedding at Glen Oaks? This is one of the places we are considering and haven't heard or seen too much about it online. Also, I am looking around the Farmington Hills area for picture ideas for my engagement and wedding. Please let me know if you have any ideas!! Thank you!

I used to be a Food & Beverage Manager for Oak Management and I worked one summer at Glen Oaks. I believe they are still the busiest of the Oak Management properties - the staff they have working for them is seasoned and does a really good job. We always had people raving about the food and the golf course/surrounding areas are perfect for pictures (the building practically looks like a castle). I will say that the indoor decor is a little rustic and dark for my personal taste, but my FSIL fell in love with it when she started the early stages of her wedding plans and hopes to book her future wedding there. 

I'm having my reception at Lyon Oaks in South Lyon (I worked there before as well). We decided to book with them because they were closer to home but I found from shopping around at other reception locations (Inn at St. Johns, Lovett Hall, etc) that all of the Oaks locations were very reasonably priced. 

If you like Glen Oaks perhaps you should check out Bay Pointe in West Bloomfield as well. It has that rustic feeling that GO has but it's been recently completely renovated and is absolutely gorgeous. We considered booking there but they only hold up to 200 or so. My brother had his wedding there and it was GORGEOUS!  The food was fantastic and the views of the golf course were breathtaking.  They never had a problem with the management or anything, and all of the guests only had good things to say.  I say if it's in your budget, go for it!

My cousin was married there this past summer and it was gorgeous. The food is excellent and the views are very pretty. There are a lot of great places to take pictures all over the golf course. Ask to work with Kathy. She's the best.

My FI and I are having our reception at Lyon Oaks as well.  I live right by Glen Oaks, and love the outside, but the pictures online were less to be desired, so I never considered it for our recption.  But when I did go there to look at it for a possible shower location I fell in love. It is beautiful!  I kind of wish we would have considered there for our reception.  But I love Lyon Oaks.  Plus, my FI booked the hall before he proposed, because I had been looking at in online for months!  So we never had to shop around.  I will say, as the others did, the food through Oak management is amazing!!  Plus, in my opinion, you get a lot for your money.  Good luck!
