Is it okay to use a different style font that is different than the wedding invitations for the address labels? Or should I just use the same font? Or use maybe something that is similar to the wedding invitations?
I printed the addresses directly on the invitation envelopes...
For the name line only, I used EasyStreet EPS font that was a script-y font we used throughout the invitations.
For the remainder of the address & our return address, I used 'Copperplate Gothic', which we used as the block-y font throughout the invitation.
I don't think you have to use the exact same fonts throughout like we did...but I agree that it should be a continuation of the formality of the invitation & the wedding overall.
Personally. I'm using labels. go ahead. Shoot me, but I don't care and its easier fro me and I'm just fine with it. I am however using the same font, but I'm a firm believer that its your wedding so do what suits you best.
I am using labels too, although I know some frown upon that. We are ordering our invites and they are not a standard size that we can run through the printer, and I am not about to pay for a calligrapher. We are using similar fonts -- but make sure to use a print (versus a script) so you're less likely to have problems with the post office.
I am using labels too. I bought the clear ones, so that they virtually disappear on the envelope, I highly recommend them. FI and I both have awful handwriting and I'm not about to ask a friend to address them all for me.
I used clear labels, and they looked fine on the envelope. I used the scriptina font for their names and made it larger with Word Art (this way I could include all of our colors). Then the actual address was smaller with a font that matched the invitation. I loved the way it actually turned out, I also got some nice compliments on them!

I love Laerchic's comment...people get so wrapped up in what should be done...I'm a big fan of doing whatever floats your boat.
