I saw this on the news and I was speechless. The mother looked like hell too, burns on her body, her face was bruised and swollen. Its so unbelievably sad.

I will never understand how a person could lay their hands on anyone in anger, much less a small child.

Yes Kim, totally made me sick to my stomach! I have a 5 year old son, and I cannot IMAGINE what I would do to someone that tried to hurt him! I know this sounds crazy, but I would die for my son and I probably would have died trying to save his life from this crazy BASTARD that was abusive!

Erin - me either! I have no idea how someone could harm anyone, especially a child!

OMG! I have a 6 yr old and a almost 2 yr old. I couldnt imagine. However, how did he beat the boy for 24 hours and she never had a minute to get out a window or something. If that was my child I wouldnt of stopped. Just saying. I hope the 8 year old can mentally and emotionally recover and it makes me sooo sad.

Things like this seriously make me wonder about the world.

bec&Jim - I know? I wondered the same thing..IDK, this just makes me sick. I can't judge this battered mother b/c I have no idea how it feels to be abused, but I am just sad for this entire situation.

I cannot stop thinking about it - I went to high school with both the mom & the dad.. the monster that did this is from a neighboring town. It's just so awful. My heart breaks for the family 

FYI: the mother is 100% to blame for this as well - those "cuts" on her face are from zits that she picked, her own sister said that. The "black eyes" that are yellowish most likely are from heroin/jaundice. She is a freaking junkie. Please do not feel sorry for the "mom" - I'm not a mother, but I know that even if I saw this happening to a random child I would do EVERYTHING I could to prevent it from happening. The torturing went on for DAYS - you can't tell me this guy didn't go to sleep, or to the bathroom or shower, etc. She could have done something.

OMG Meghan - I had no idea (obviously). That is so messed up. I definitely do NOT feel sorry for her now. I questioned her 'story' that she tried to call her Mom and said she'd call her back - like, why didn't Grandma call the cops? Something didn't add up there and now I see why.

I understand why you feel so upset. If anything good could come of this I hope the other child can get into a better household and have a happy life.

Either way, the story is awful. Maybe she was too scared to do anything, even if she is a mother and instinct tells you to do anything to protect your own child. Absolutely horrific. I'm sure the dude going to prison will get his in there.

Thst's horrible I don't understand how someone could hurt a childand I really don't understand how someone could torture a child for 24 hours. The thought of a screaming and crying child makes me sick. This a-hole should be publicly stoned to death.
