How to clean a diamond ring

I get stupid emails from Real Simple, but this one is handy. I never would have thought about ammonia, I use toothpaste:

interesting! I wonder how safe it is for the metals though? hmm...

I clean mine with scrubbing bubbles (thanks to someone on here ... julie? I don't remember all I know is that it's genius!), I've also used windex too and a baby toothbrush to get all into it.

We went to Lucido on Saturday to look at bands though and they cleaned my ring for me and I swear I walked out blind! Nothing compares to a good jeweler's cleaning lol

Give it to your husband or FI to clean. lol Seriously Ausin usually cleans my ring or I take it to the jewelry store

works like a charm - sometimes - I do it with the ring still on.. I also bought one of those soft glasses cleaning clothes - and I use with just for my ring to dry and shine it. The cloth also works wonders when dry.
