12 days out!! Last minute questions...

Hi ladies--

As I enter into my final days, I realized that I missed a couple things.

1. Are we supposed to get gifts for our readers and the people that bring up the gifts (catholic wedding)? Who should get a gift from us besides parents & bridal party?

2. Do we really need someone to hand out programs or can our ushers hand them out or can we put them in a basket??

3. Who are we supposed to tip? Our service charge at the venue covers the tip for the bartenders and servers. Musicians for the ceremony are also paid for by our chapel fee. We also have a florist (fiances aunt who owns her own shop), videographer (his own business), photographer (her own business), linens (her own business), DJ (through a company), and bagpiper (for recessional)?

4. Is there anything else I am missing at this point??

1) I didn't get gifts for our readers. I know a lot of people did but I didn't.  Did your parents pay for the wedding? If so than yes most people give gifts. 

2) You can just leave the programs in a basket. However, to make sure people get them I would have someone hand them out. I choose my two younger cousins to do it. 

3) I tipped the DJ, The photobooth, and the wedding planner. The wedding planner told me you tip who you want to. It has nothing to do with who owns their own business and who doesn't.

2. Do we really need someone to hand out programs or can our ushers hand them out or can we put them in a basket?? Our chapel provided someone to do this. If you have a table in the foyer of the church, people can take their own.

People who run their own businesses do not require tips. The DJ is the only you mentioned who would be ettique-wise eligible. If you are having your hair & makeup done, they might be eligible as well.

4. Is there anything else I am missing at this point?? Yes: R-E-L-A-X.

It's whirlwind time. It will go quickly. Enjoy everything, don't stress, and you will be fine.

1. I also did not get my reader a gift.
2. I had a basket but not that many were used so if you really want to make sure everyone gets one, you could have them passed.
3. Bartenders will still get cash tips from your guests so definitely nothing extra there, videographer and photographer- I would wait until you get the finished product, your thoughts on whether you should give a tip may change-however, we had a second shooter that was hired by our main photographer, we gave her a tip the night of. DJ, photobooth, and DOC ended up getting tips but I gave them to someone to hold and waited until the end of the night to make sure their efforts warranted the extra tip (all did!!!)
-Just figure out what fits in your budget and make sure to notice when one of the vendors does something either above and beyond their minimal efforts or someone that made the day so awesome- and reward them with a tip!

1. We got our readers gifts. I gave my aunt an Amazon gift card, H got his uncle a Tigers t-shirt.

2. Our ushers just passed them out as they were seating people. I don't think you need special people to hand them out.

3. In your case, I would just tip the DJ. Sounds like everyone else owns his/her own business. If you feel like someone goes above and beyond, you could certainly tip them, but the general rule is to tip anyone who doesn't own their own business. In the case of those that do, all the profits are going to them, so it's not seen as necessary.

Great Questions! I had been wondering the same thing since I am also 12 days out! EEKK!! I'm trying not to run around like a chicken with their head cut off, but it is hard not to!

Thank you!!! I also need to pick out a signature drink to be passed out during cocktail hour. My venue suggested mojitos, but I personally dont see a lot of people liking that. I wanted to do something clear with berries in it. Our color is purple, but I didnt want t purple drink in case it spills. 

Have any suggestions???
