Las Vegas - Been There or Will Be?

I have been on the Las Vegas board getting some info but I was wondering if there were any Detroit brides that were thinking/have been to Las Vegas to get married?

I am leaning toward a chapel wedding but non-Elvis....

I REALLY wanted to get married at Mandalay Bay's outdoor chapel, but we ended up getting married here per my DH's wishes. There are lots of very nice chapels out there. The photographer I would have used had we gotten married out there is Todd from Bently & Wilson- when I checked in 2011, their prices were only ~$800 for a full day of shooting, unlimited hours. They may have gone up since then, but their photos are incredible!

My FSIL got married there a few years ago. She was married in Mandalay Bay's indoor chapel area. It was absolutely beautiful. After we had dinner at one of the buffet restaurants there - they reserved the back room, there were maybe 30 of us total?

It was my first time in Vegas and I loved it.

Hi! I am getting married in ~gulp~ 12 days at Mandalay Bay's shark reef before it opens to the public. So excited because this is the way we wanted to do it-fun and unique. We are using Todd from Bently & Wilson for a photo strip tour afterwards so yippee! Feel free to pm if you have any questions!

A friend of mine got married in Vegas many years ago and just did one of the hotel/casinos. They had a package so she checked a few boxes as far as what she wanted and then the coordinator took care of everything. Sounds like weddings have become much classier/more serious than Elvis marrying you in the little wedding chapel.

I think there's a few people on the E board who have gotten married in Vegas. Also checking the Vegas local board is a great plan.

My MOH just got engaged and she is planning her wedding to be at Mandalay Bay next May. She and her FI went to Vegas last weekend to look at some places. She was also impressed, by Caesars but said she would have to go through a different person for everything there and didn't want that hassle. She also mentioned Tropicana was nice. FYI I am SUPER excited We first thought about possibly doing Vegas and my choice would have been Mandalay!

We are honeymooning in Vegas! Many of the hotel and chapels are quite beautiful and not "Vegas-y" I have never been there though (yet).
