Going to miss my E-Ring.(only for a few weeks)

We went to the jewelry store today to see if they could clean up my ring a little bit.
Its 14k white gold, and the gold is starting to come through on the bottom and its pretty scuffed up. They said it could take up to 3 weeks to get back. THEN, they asked me, if the ring is beyond repairable, do i want it back or do i want the money? I was like..WHAT? it just needs to be dipped!
Apparantly when they send it off for service they have to ask "just incase"

Luckily, FH bought the lifetime service pack so I can get it all shiney and nice any time it needs it.

Im kinda bummed because im going dress shopping the weekend of March 4th. Hopefully I have it back by then.

Anyone else have to part with their ring for a few weeks? Don't you feel naked without it?

    The only time I didn't have it was when we had it sized after we first got engaged.  It was gone a week and it was awful.  Especially since I had just gotten engaged and obviously wanted to wear it 24/7.

    Have fun dress shopping!  Do you have any favorite dresses yet?

    I am sending mine in a few weeks to get sized :(! It makes me sad too!

    I've had to send it in twice and both times were DREADFUL without it! When I sent it in in January to get cleaned it was supposed to come on a Monday but we had oodles of snow and they ship it to New York so it didn't come back until FRIDAY... oy. It was horrible, and yes, I'm overdramatic.. but you obviously understand [-;

    OMG I have to send mine in too get sized and re-dipped too but I can't bare to be without it. Plus my weight is going up and down I am going to wait until July to get it done just so I can make sure it is handled before the wedding.

    I do have a couple in mind. My bridesmaid and I looked through a bunch of wedding magazines today to see what i liked (i've been dreading going dress shopping since the beginning, but im down 40 pounds so its making me feel a little more "bridal")
    I kept pulling the Alfred Angelo 2031 over and over again out of magazines. I had a pile of dresses that i ripped out of magazines and at the end of it, there was 3 of the same one. My bridesmaid said its a sign..so we'll see..
    AND, i've been watching "say yes to the dress" faithfully, every night. Its all i can think about.
    Ill keep you guys posted!!

    Glad to know im not the only over emotional person that is upset about loosing her ring for a few weeks!
    Im going to get it re-sized when im done loosing weight. Thankfully, I fit into a standard 7 right now, but its starting to become too loose. Ill weight until september or so to send it back in and get it resized and buffed and dipped again!

    Congrats on the 40lbs.  That's fantastic!!  And I really like the dress, probably because it's very similar to mine :)

    <div>It's unfortunate that you believe being heavy doesn't make you feel bridal BUT CONGRATS ON THE 40!!!! THAT'S AWESOME!!!!! I reeeeeally want some sort of motivation to kick my butt into gear. 15 lbs doesn't sound like a lot but when you're smaller, it's harder to get off! WAY TO GO, GIRL!!</div>
