    Welcome Amymike20.

We are always willing to help, but would need a bit more information.
    How many people?
Where on Lake Michigan? (to help with ideas for catering, etc; there is also a Grand Rapids board, might know more). It runs from Mackinac to Indiana border.
What type of wedding are you thinking of? Small, large, time of day?
Where on the beach is it? Near electrical connections? Near a pavilion in case of rain?

Help us out so we can help you.

no more then 100 people. I have a tent and chairs, We rented a house on lake michigan for a week. And I have a cake ordered. I guess my question is do we have afull meal or do heavy app's.

I guess it would depend on what time you were having the wedding/reception at. If it is near a meal time, then yes, full meal. If it is later in the evening, heavy apps would work.

Are you making the food yourself or having it catered?

IMO a bbq style meal would go well with a beach wedding but there's no reason why you couldn't serve other food.

With regard to the full meal vs. apps that really depends more on the time of day than the location. Meal time reception means you need to serve a meal. Otherwise you could definitely do heavy apps.
