DJ Refferal

I received an email from a company called Orange County Entertainment. I believe they are partners with David's Bridal.
Has anyone usd them for a dj? During the month of January  I can book a dj for $400. This price is just what I was looking for. I'm only familiar with one of the djs ( Michael Shea of Shea Sounds) that was listed but he unfortunately wasn't available for our September wedding.
I'm interested to know if any one else has had a good experience with them.  They are working on arranging a meeting for 2 of the other djs right now.

Re: DJ Refferal

  • We went to the worst wedding show at Gourmet Manor, and they were "dj-ing" the event. It was worst than awful. I have no words. They were raffling off free dj service and we were there a few minutes before the raffle. There was only 6 or so couples. We left. After seeing them in action I wouldn't use there service if it was free!! Maybe some of the djs are ok, but the three that were there were just... yeah.

We were going with Chris from Shea sounds before we had our change of plans. I would check into Shea for their others DJs. Chris is a friend of my BM and he came to my house with her to talk about pricing, details, etc. He said whatever we wanted he would do. He was really nice to speak with.

We thought about Orange County too, and then realized that if it's that cheap, they can't be that great. Good luck!
  • I would avoid them simply because they would spam my inbox which was really annoying.
  •   I met with the owner Sharon over the weekend. She told me that January is a slow month and that was why the price was so slow. Their normal prices start at $795.
I also met with one of the djs, Chris Weed.  He seemed real nice and was willing to do anything to make my wedding special.

Like I stated before I really wanted Mike Shea from Shea Sounds but he wasn't available nor was Jason.  Also if I went through his company directly his prices were starting at $800 as well. Our budget  just doesn't allow for that since we already have  ceremony/dinner music planned. We only need a dj to play for about 4 hours and it seems that everyone  wants $800 and is unwilling to drop their prices for us.
