Crystal Gardens in Howell

Has anyone ever done both the reception and ceremony at Crystal Gardens in Howell? I loved the venue but our event coordinator said the ceremony would be in the same room as our reception. I'm looking to do both the reception and ceremony in the same location for our guests' convenience. Has anyone ever done that here? It sounds like it might be weird to have everyone sitting at their dinner spaces as I walk down the "aisle"...

We are having our reception there, but not the ceremony. I asked them about this when we were having trouble with our ceremony location. They basically have the guests sit at their tables while the ceremony takes place. I wasn't keen on the idea either.

Which room are you in? If our wedding was smaller, I would have considered the patio that is connected to our room (the smallest - I think they call it the celebrity room).

I am going to a wedding there in 2 weeks so I can let you know as a guest then how it goes.

We attended a wedding in Oct. that did something similar and it defintely wasn't ideal but they had also originally planned on an outdoor ceremony so I don't know if the set-up was especially poor because it wasn't intended to be done that way.

It seemed very squashed together and I imagine some people had a very obstructed view.  I think if they planned it better they wouldn't have had that issue so perhaps because Crystal Gardens plans it they know how to set it up better?

Thanks!! We are planning on 75 - 100 guests and haven't booked it yet so I don't know what room we will be in yet - but I'm guessing we will be in the smallest room too. Where did you end up having your ceremony? Was it somewhere close?

I look forward to hearing what your experience is like as a guest!

    Thanks again!

We're having our ceremony at the Grace Chapel in Brighton. It's on Fourth Street between Madison and Washington (south of main street). We like it so far and have been working with Pastor Jeff.
