Reserving Hotel Block and Shuttle

Hey Ladies,
As always TIA! I started looking into hotels in the Roseville, Clinton Township, St. Clair Shores area to book a group of rooms for our wedding guests.  Any helpful hints are factors that helped you decide which to pick? Any recomendations in the area? Also do hotels usually have a shuttle service they use or do you find that on your own? Any reccomendations on a shuttle service either?
Thanks! Also I have been through the stickies at the top all day! ;)

I checked out tripadvisor.com religiously to get a feel for what previous guests thought of the various hotels in different areas.  Most places had shuttles but of course they have mileage restrictions on how far they'll go.  If you get your own shuttle service I know Metro Cars have some nice ones and reasonable prices.

I was really interested in having a shuttle service and a free one if possible.  Also I wanted to be somewhat between the church and reception for convenience sakes.
I just basically called around asking for pricing and requirements for group rates.  Compiled a list and went with what I thought would work best for everyone.

I am looking in the same area for my guests - we are having our ceremony & reception at the GP War Memorial, but want to give our guests a hotel in the st. Clair Shores/Clinton Twp area.  We are trying to find a shuttles for our guests and are having a difficult time finding a company that will split up the cost, instead of us paying for a couple of vans and drivers from 3:30-12:30, which is something we can't afford.  any suggestions?
