Card Box

Where would be a good place to get your card box or cage or whatever you might use the night of the reception for guests to put cards in?

Where do you live? There is a place in Center Line called Dealer's Discount that sells wells, boxes & cages pretty cheaply. You can also ask your venue if they provide one...mine does. I also think I saw some at Party City.

I got one of the "birdcage" type ones at Joann's (made by Wilton, I think) for like, $20.  I put a ribbon on it that matched my colors and it did the trick :)

JoAnns, Michaels, Garden Ridge, Hobby Lobby, etc. Also check the Trash To Treasure board on The Nest. You might find someone trying to get rid of one.

Also...check with your venue before you buy anything. I was fully prepared to buy/make something and found out that my venue provides a really nice pillar style cardbox for free. That's $20 I can spend elsewhere lol.

If you are interested in the picture frame cardboxes, I cheated and actually bought a basketball display case.  The top (that is open) is actually the bottom. I'm going to put a lazy susan on the bottom and create something for the top where the cards will go in. It cost me $30.

If you're looking for unique looking cages, you can try Tj Maxx, Marshalls and Home Goods. I bought mine at TJ Maxx for about $30.

I just took two cardboard boxes and covered them in pretty scrapbooking paper, made some pinwheels and called it a day. It cost like $10 mostly because of the spray adhesive. Here is a pic, I need to glue the top down more.

I got my bridcage cardholder and stand from HomeGoods and had it painted..it's white now, but I can't find the updated picture.

Im doing the picture frames on a lazy susan one as well. I need to get some pictures up of all the little things Ive started. Im a procrastinator so I gotta start early and slowly chip away at things.

Michaels had white card boxes on clearance a few weeks ago. Id just go around to craft stores and check. Or look on the trash to treasure (is that its name?) board

I make custom card boxes and I am in the metro detroit area. They run roughly $100, they are beautiful.  I have had several compliments on boxes I have made for other weddings.  Allow 2 weeks turn around time for custom orders.  Here are some I have made.  The purple one is available now.
