My civil ceremony

For legal reasons that are too long to go into my DH and I had to have a civil ceremony last month.  It was a very small event with just the celebrant, us and 5 guests.  I do have some reviews for a few items that I thought I'd share.  My DH lives in Detroit and I live in Windsor, Canada.  We're having a larger event next summer, 2013.  I don't have many vendors but I thought I'd share anyway.  Here goes:

Teacup Weddings $300, Ann Arbor MI, B
This is a veune for couples who want a civil wedding but do not want to go to the court house.  I chose the outdoor venue which was very small but suited our needs.  Communication with the venue was hit and miss.  It cost $75 to visit the venue to check it.

Officiant

She made our small ceremony meaningful and special.

Ceremony Music/Sound System

Caterer A

$60, Busch's Fresh Food Market  Okay, so we only 9 people to cater for but the food (steak and different kinds of salad) wwas awesome.  

Bakery A+++

$100, Hollywood Market, Royal Oak MI  

The cake was so beautiful and extremely large.  They also gave me a bag of petals to decorate the table.  Greta service and delicious cake!!!

Florist B+

My bouquet was okay, nothing spectacular but for $80 I suppose I couldn't get better.  next year, I'm thinksing of doing my own flowers.

Wedding dress A

A vintage 1960s wedding dress for $60!  My best find yet.  It fit like a glove and needed no alterations.

Groom's Suit A+

The suit was perfect and the salesperson did not pressure us at all.

Hair A

$65  (local salon)  Oak Park MI This was the first wedding  hair the girl had done but my hair looked great and she really listened to my preferences.  

Makeup C

$40, Make-up artisit used by the hair salon.

I asked for light make-up but got a heavy pancake look.  It looked like if I had done it myself.
