Wedding venues/ideas

My fiance and I are planning a Friday June 21 wedding.  It is a small intimate affair with only 40 people invited.  I am having a hard time finding a ceremony space/reception space for such a small amount of people.  Is that even doable??!! I am in Grand Blanc Mi but would be willing to get married in Oakland county if the space is right. HELP!!!

That is definitely doable! I would recomend looking into restaurants rather than traditional, large venues. Here are some ideas:

Genittis (Northville) - Incredible 7 course italian meal, nestled in downtown Northville, location has a ton of character. Everyone that works there is friendly and proud to be there. It is more on the casual side:

Cafe Cortina (Farmington Hills) - very nice and romantic italian place. Their patio would be awesome for at night for a small group. I had some problems getting in contact with their event coordinator but I have read great reviews:

Iroquis Club (Bloomfield Hills) - haven't had their food, but it has a very cozy interior, friendly staff and their packages include a lot!

It's A Matter of Taste (Commerce Twp) - they have different room options and a nice view.

And finally - my favorite, Planterra (West Bloomfield), wayyy out of my budget. But a creative, beautiful location. http://planterraevents.com/

    Good luck!

  • Have you looked into restaurants or outdoor places such as parks?

  • Depending on what you are looking for, Rochester Community House, Goldner Walsh Home & Garden or Van Hoosen Farms in Rochester could work for smaller parties.  A restaurant is a good idea too.
