I WANT TO THROW SOMETHING!!!!! (Wedding reception blues)

3 months away and I haven't locked in a reception location Cry....What's a bride to do? There is a place I've had my heart set on, however they only provide packages with a premium bar and at $75 per plate (for a couple that doesn't drink) much - GET OUT OF HERE!

    ****HUGS****  This week has been stressful!  I'm not sure what area you are looking in, but I'm holding my reception at the Troy Marriott, and they had a lot of dates open. For $75 a plate you get 2 butler passed apps, a cheese bar, dinner + salad, the cake is included in as a credit, and they also provide basic linens and centerpieces.  The bar is open for 4 or 5 hours and it's a basic bar.  Try there!

    Did you previously have a reception venue and it fell through or have you just not booked one yet?  I guess I'm just confused how you could have set a date without a reception venue - not to mention one that is 3 months away.

    Start doing your research ASAP.  Start with the sticky posts at the top of the board that have to do deal with vendors and start calling to see if your date is available.  You may have better luck since your wedding is on a Sunday rather than a Saturday.

    yeah, what area? I researched like 10 venues and met with all of them, so I might be able to help you out!

    oh! And my wedding is 2-3 months away and I had a surprisingly hard time finding a suite to book for my wedding night and for my out of town guests. A bunch of hotels are booked up. Might want to do that right after you figure out the reception!

    It must be so hard to pick a venue with only 3 months, I am 14 months off and am going crazy lol! Welcome to the board and like everyone else will say, check the stickies. I don't make a move without them!

    I'm still a long way out from my wedding but I already reserved my reception site its in Lincoln Park at the Park Diamond aka The knights of columbus. I am having two entrees and an open bar for about $30 per person. I talked to Ray and he helped me out I am on a budget the number is 3133813663 or it might be 383 can't remember at the moment this link should take you to the weddings page its beautiful and has a huge dance floor.

    Jump on the planning-train asap! Let us know what area you're hoping for so we can help. Also, what's your price range? While you may think $75 pp is ridiculous, others may think that's a deal (I, however, could not spend that much! lol) I'm sure you'll be able to pull it off, but it probably wasn't the best idea to have a set date without a reception venue... no offense.
