Confessions/Vents

Re: Confessions/Vents

  • edited February 2012
I can't sleep :(  For the past two weeks whenever I try to go to bed, wedding stuff just rushes through my head and I can't turn it off.  Last night was the worst - I didn't fall asleep until almost 4am and I had to wake up at 6am.  I don't know why I'm obsessing over it when I'm not getting married until November!!  And I get frustrated with FI because he just says, "Well, don't think about it."  I don't WANT to think about the wedding and worry about the wedding until 4 am!!  I would much rather be sleeping :(

  • aloisk57: Sorry to hear about your problems. The only advice I have is take a tylenol PM about an hour before you want to go to sleep, and read something reeeeally boring, LOL (not bridal mags!).

My vent: I transfered back to working for my original boss Jan 1st. Need to meet with her to go over our plans for this year. She is SOOOO busy, on the road a lot, and we've already cancelled one meeting. Supposed to meet today at 10 am. I'm crossing my fingers it isn't cancelled again. Hell, I'd even meet with her on the weekend if we had to.
  • Vent: My throat is irritated. Not fun. Ughhh

  • I confess that I'm really frustrated with my job right now.  Our grant just lost a good chunk of funding so I'm being cut to part time but I get to keep my benefits.  Now to look for a new job.

  • I'm irritated because I was reading a bachelor thread on another board and a girl gave away the ending.  Annoying!
  • Vent: DH's transmission broke (or whatever it is that transmissions do) when he was on a business trip to Ohio three weeks ago.  We had to cancel our Valentine's trip (basically our belated honeymoon) to pay to have it rebuilt.

Last week, he was on another trip to Cincinnati, and the trans went out again.  He managed to get home, and took it back to the guy, who completely took it apart and rebuilt it.  Said there'd been something loose, but it was fine now.

Last night, DH calls me from Cleveland to tell me that it's out AGAIN.  It's in the shop now, and he's home.  But I'm seriously annoyed.  Both at the shop, who don't seem to be doing their job right and are severely inconveniencing us, and at DH's job.  He's covering the territory of their usual Ohio agent because that guy's on indefinite leave.  And I (perhaps irrationally) feel that if they weren't making him drive to the Kentucky/West Virginia borders three times a week just to do a  20-minute interview each time, we wouldn't have to be dealing with this at all.

  • My vent is that I'm sick of paying exorbitant credit card bills. Usually, it's manageable, but ever since Christmas they've been high due to last minute plane tickets for family issues (seriously, 3 $400-$500 plane tickets in 3 months), wedding expenses, etc,

I need to send the limo/shuttle deposit in today and I wanted FI to put it on his card to give mine a break and his has better rewards, but wouldn't you know it...he left it at the bar on Saturday and is leaving town for a couple days. So, there goes another few hundred on the card.

I need to go on a spending hiatus, stat!

  • Confession: I found out that there are some openings where I work for permanent positions and I applied for them. If I get one, I will feel bad leaving my team to work for a different part of the company. My boss pulled me aside yesterday to talk to me about it and pretty much told me he had put in a good word for me, but the co-workers I talk to every day have no clue.

(irrational) Vent: We moved to Grand Rapids over a year ago and FI finally made a friend (I went to school out here so I already had a network of friends). He has class till 10pm on Tuesdays and he texted me in the middle of his class to tell me he was going to go over to his friends house after class....so I didn't get to see him at all.

  • Vent:  Dan and I have lost FIVE fish between Sunday and Tuesday.

Background:  When "Stewie" died in May 2011, we "adopted" two goldfish, which we named Tarzan and Jane.

Last Saturday Dan decides that he wants a 10 gallon tank and this had a filter (vs the bubbler he had for the fishbowl).  We go out and get the stuff, set it up, then put Tarzan and Jane into there new home.

Sunday morning when Dan got up, Jane had passed away.  I found out about it when I came over after church.  At that time I told Dan that perhaps we should get some more fish so Tarzan wouldn't be lonely.  He agree and we went out and got three more fish.  Sadly when we got home, Tarzan had also passed.

We put the newly "adopted" kids in the tank - Flo, Darth Vadar and Spot.  They seemed just fine.  Then on Tuesday he wanted me to go get a part for "the kids" and I said ok. Then he said never mind.  I didn't know what he meant so I went over there later on in the day.  I didn't know how to turn the light on the tank on, so I got a flashlight to shine in there and there was nothing....

I figured that Flo, Darth Vadar and Spot joined Tarzan and Jane in the Clinton River.

I'm not sure what to think.  I don't know how Tarzan and Jane were when we got them.  As for Flo, Darth Vadar and Spot, I was thinking that it could be that the water still had too much clorine in it when we put them in.

  • Vent:
One of FI's friend's is pissing me off. He is over all the time. And when he isn't over, he's texting/calling FI wanting to get together that night or make plans for the following day. I know he doesn't have many friends so he values FI's friendship. I just wish he would understand that this is no longer a bachelor pad and that his presence isn't wanted ALL the time.  I'm not marrying him, I don't want to see him on a daily basis.

He joked around the other day about moving in...I'm pretty sure he was serious.

  • Confession: I am so busy and have so much to do with school/wedding/kids that I am having a REALLY hard time focusing. I have a ton of school deadlines and exams in the next two weeks and I keep putting off studying and start worrying about the wedding and not being able to get it all done in such a short time. I am also freaking out about finding a dress. I have been to like 5 salons already and I am having a hard time figuring out what I want (ugh). I wish I could just find something and order it so that I can stop stressing about it. THANK GOD my mom is coming to town next week!

</div><div>Sounds like you might need to check the water's PH levels? If you take a sample of your tank water to a pet store they should be able to test it and let you know if it is within safe levels. My FI is obsessed with fish and when a whole bunch of them up and died, we tested the water and it turns out that's what was killing the fish.</div><div>
</div><div>He now only puts filtered water in the tank and we haven't had random bouts of lots of fish dying.

Well, as far as Tarzan and and Jane were concerned, it could have been age.  But now the other three?  I am suspecting that Dan needed to wait at least 48 hours before putting the fish in so that the clorine could disapate.  However, I will mention about the PH level.
  • Vent:
Our TV died on Friday. Just up and stopped working. We've had the TV for less than 3 months, so we took it back to Walmart yesterday. Of course, every Walmart within 65 miles is sold out of the TV, so we have to wait until next week to get it shipped to us.

    Confession:
...I never realized how much TV I watch until this. I'm slightly embarrassed.

  • Vent: There are about 5 people currently on my Facebook bragging and posting about vacations they are currently on and I am finding it hard not to hate them all (even tho one is my sister).  I think I just have the winter blahs but I am still inordinately irritated by these posts. I feel like I want to sign off FB for the week til they all have to come home to MI.
