Eat, Pray, Love

The movie is coming out this weekend.  I haven't read the book but I've really wanted to.  Has anyone read it?  What did you think?  I think I'd most likely read the book now and rent later, unless I hear the movie is a must-see in theaters for some reason.

I LOVED the book.  I'm nervous to see the movie bc I usually am disappointed.  But I do like Julie Roberts...so I'm hopeful.

I did not like the book.  At all.  In fact, I would have stopped reading halfway through, but a good friend had hyped it up, so I kept reading to see if it would get better.

I generally like fiction books though...so this one just wasn't my style.

I enjoyed the book.  I was traveling in Asia at the time though so it hit a little closer to home.

I loved the book!  It was one of those where I kept staying up later and later, going "Just one more chapter..."  I thought it was a relatively quick read.

I don't know how I feel about the movie though.  I so did not picture her anything like Julia Roberts, so I'll have to see what that's like.

I'm currently reading it (still in Italy) but I don't think it's all that great so far.  We'll see though, I'll probably push through and try to finish it.

I heard from a few people that they didn't like the book. My plans are to watch the movie first, and then go back, read the book and compare. All this hyping up this movie by the media, it better be great!

Brandi, I can't believe you would be able to go back and read the book after having already seen the movie.  I would never be able to stick through a book if I already knew everything that happened. Yet on the flip side, I like to watch a movie to see how they made the book into a movie...and I am always disappointed.

Hmmm, I'll probably read it eventually.  Maybe not right away in time to see the movie.  I agree with you Julie, I'm always disappointed with movies from books.  Even though I always go out and see them anyway just in case this one will be different.

I saw it. I didn't read the book. Honestly, it is really hard to disappoint me with movies but I was kind of disappointed. I think the majority of it was because of all the hype. I'll let you ladies see it and decide.

Julie- I did that with the Twilight Saga. I was against it from day 1 and I rented the first one "just to see what everyone is talking about" and then ended up really liking them and now I'm on "New Moon". I dont know if I'm going to try and read Breaking Dawn before or after...
