wedding invitations vs. the post office

I think I made a big mistake.  I had taken my wedding invitations to the post office and gotten the postage accurate.  We mailed a few out and they arrived just fine.  The rest needed to go out today, so I went over to the post office.  I got there about 15 minutes after they closed, so I decided to drop them in the box.  Well, after inserting all 100+ invitations, I see this sign that says if your mail is dropped in the box, and it's over 13 ounces, then your mail will be returned back to the sender - some security thing.  I'm pretty sure my invites are over 13 ounces since the postage was so much.  Has anyone else had this happen?  Am I going to get all of my invites back?  I think I'll go to the post office first thing in the morning and see if I can just retrieve them and have the counter process them.  I thought this whole hand-canceling thing was optional!

13 ounces is almost a pound and I highly doubt each invitation weighs a pound. I say you're fine :)

Ditto Lindsay.  Anything over 1 ounce requires extra postage.  I highly doubt you made it up to 13 oz because that would have been over $3/invitation to mail.

<div>Ok good.  They were like 84 cents each.  After posting this I started thinking that 13 oz would be like a small box of sugar - which would be nuts!  I can't imagine they are 3/4 of a pound of paper.  I'm going to write this off as an odd dose of wedding worry. :) </div>
