My FI says that he doesn't want one because he doesn't want me to spend the money, but his dad has a 1955 Chevy and he LOVES that car.  I'm thinking of seeing how much a local bakery would charge to make a cake version.  I think he would be pretty excited....IF I could keep it a secret!

I think I'm going to do one, and use it for our rehearsal dinner cake. I'm hoping the bakery can either do an olde english D or something that resembles a Tigers baseball cap. We shall see.

I did one as a surprise and DH loved it! I used the Home Bakery in Rochester Hills and it was less than $800 for both cakes with delivery.  I think it was worth the money people loved it!

I got the idea for the groom's cake design from a fellow knottie btw!

I'm doing one and plan to use it as a surprise for the rehearsal dinner since we already have dessert for the wedding. Since it's typically smaller and only needs to feed about 40 people I think it will be worth a few extra bucks :~)

FI has a love affair going with the old school Adidas classics, so Im thinking of surprising him with a groom's cake made of them, maybe with the boombox or something (He also love Run DMC).

Who makes good custom cakes like that???

My baker does! Here is a pic of the one she did for us:

A ton of choices for flavors and the price was great too!
