What did you wear to your shower?

So now that I have been given our shower date and where it is gonna be, I wanna find an outfit. Our shower is gonna be in a banquet room in a church, so its not super fancy..but Im sure they will have it done nice. I dont want to come looking to fancy, but also not like Im out for a day of shopping..lol.

  • Here are photos of my outfits from my 2 showers.

This first one was from our ladies only shower held at a country club, I paired it with black high heels.

This one was from our couple's shower at his aunt's house.  The skirt was floor length and flowy, I paired it with wedges.

  • This is from my shower.  Just a simple black and white polka dot dress with black peep toe pumps.  I already had the dress so it wasn't anything special I bought.  The shower was held at DH's grandma's house.

  • I wore this dress from Macy's
  • Hmm.. Ours will be the second week in March..so it wont really be warm yet. Name some shops I should look at.

  • Dress 1 (Oct. 1st shower) cream with brown & brown sweater.

Dress 2 (August 7) - Multicolor for a pool party bridal shower

Dress 3 (Sept. 25) - basic purple sleeveless

  • Aww Milsey, you're so pretty!  And I love your purple dress!  Super cute :)

Melanie - You could easily do a skirt and a sweater or a cute dress with a cardigan.  If you do a heavier fabric, it'll keep you warm even if you are in a dress/skirt.

I would think this time of year would be ideal, especially after the holidays and things are on sale since a lot of people get a "nice Christmas outfit" to wear to church and Grandmas (and can't forget those Christmas card photos!)  I would just try the regular department stores, The Limited usually has cute dresses, H&M might have something too.
  • here's what I wore, middle of July though, from the BCBG outlet.  I just had it in my closet - i didn't get anything special for the bridal shower:

  • renttherunway.com. I really wished I had found this site before my shower! Lots of cute dresses, low prices. Unless you can find something that you will definitely wear more than once.

  • White House, Black Market!!!  They have great dresses and always have white dresses.  Be preparted to spend some money though, but the dresses last a long, long time and really good quality.

  • My first shower was in March and I wore a champagne/toast short-sleeve sweater and pencil skirt with polka dots. Both were from the Limited.

I can't find any pics from my second shower in July, but I wore a medium purple color wrap dress and silver heels. I got the dress for less than $20 at Forever 21.
