Nail Salons in the Dearborn area

Hi Ladies!!

I am looking for a nail salon in the Dearborn area to do manis/pedis before my July 28 wedding.  I'm wanting to have the nails done the day before.  I grew up in Dearborn but I moved to Charleston, SC about 5 years ago so I am a little out of the loop!

I'd like somewhere good, yet affordable.

Thanks in advance!

Re: Nail Salons in the Dearborn area

  • I go to J&J nails it by Wayne and Ford rd across the street from Westland bowling, next to Nom Nom cupcake factory. They are inexpensive and do really good work Smile

  • This isn't exactly in Dearborn, but I have heard LUV salon is really nice. There are a few in the area. The closest one to Dearborn is in Livonia at the shopping plaza at Middlebelt and Plymouth. Check it out! I was thinking of going there the day before with my MOH.

I have not been to the LUV salon in Livonia, but I have to say that I have never had a good experience at LUV (I've been to the one in Royal Oak and one in Ann Arbor). The girl in Royal Oak was awful -- talked about herself the whole time, and my nails ended up looking like crap (I got an OPI gel manicure and the color was uneven, with air bubbles and towel fuzzies all stuck in the polish). The receptionist was a compleate b***h when I complained (and lied to me as well), so I went to the corporate office. They gave me a complimentary visit to the Ann Arbor salon (closer to where I live) where the girl was a lot nicer and did a better job, but it was still not great -- very streaky and didn't last like gel/shellack should. Honestly, the Korean guy at the mall did a better job than either of these women!

Anyway, I'm sure there are people out there that have had very good experiences at LUV (and it sounds like it would be a cute place to have a pre-wedding party with your girls, since they allow you to bring in alcohol), but I thought I would share my lackluster examples for the good of the board. Might be fine for "everyday" nails, but for wedding nails, I'm planning on going to a nicer salon.
