Reception Suggestions

WE live in the Saint Clair Shores area. The ceremony is in Mount Clemens. Have been looking up Reception sites for some time now and going crazy doing so! Any suggestions for a reasonable price place that is nice? Thanks!

Hi welcome! Tell us more about your plans :)

What do you consider a reasonable per person price?  Also were you wanting to make the reception somewhere between Mount Clemens and SCS?

We are just looking for the metro detroit area. Not too far from the Mount Clemens area. we wouldnt mind driving time of around 30 minutes or so. We are planning on having 200-250 people and looking at a price around 65/pp to include the service charge. Thanks!

Have you tried Villa Penna? When I was looking we checked into them.  I seem to remember their prices being very reasonable.  Not sure if they fit in your requirements 100% but I think they are worth checking into.

I also might check out the Sterling Inn.  It might be a little bit more per person then you were looking for but you get a lot for what the per person price is.    One of my friends had hers there a few years ago and it was great.  Also the cake is included in the cost.

    Good luck!

I've been to two receptions at Blossom Heath in St. Clair Shores. The food is delicious and the reception hall is very pretty. It has a very unique layout. My FI looked into having our reception their, but choose elsewhere because it was too far away and we wanted our reception at a hotel.

Welcome Kristy! Hope to hear more about your upcoming wedding in the future. Tell us about yourself too, we are a VERY nice board.

Emily, I was JUST going to say Blossom Heath! It's lovely, with a lot of charm. I went there years ago for a wedding and was very impressed.

Brandi on our board is having her reception at the "glass house" at Metro Beach. Looks lovely. Link here:

There's also Crank's Catering, that does catering at their facility (a new one I think, not sure), but also does weddings in tents at Stoney Creek.

    Good luck.

Best Western Concorde Inn at Gratiot/Hall Rd.
Great food, amazing service, very reasonable pricing. I cannot say enough great things about them. They bring in an outside caterer, Soprano's, and the food is great.
Blossom Heath was also a runner up. They are very good.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. We did look at grosse pointe war memorial. I LOVE the venue. I am worried about having to bring our "own" alcohol into the hall. I am afraid my FI may go overboard and we may end up spending a few thousand making it more expensive than originally planned or having it elsewhere where the alcohol/bar is included. I def. will look into the concordee Inn I have heard good things all around. Also..we looked at blossom Heath I have heard good things but when we went to look at the hall we felt like it was a bit "out dated" or run down. It had a funny moldy odor to it as well. I agree it was a gorgeous layout..very nice just wish they took better care or updated certain things! Thanks so much..this picking a hall is turning out to be a big headache for me rather than a fun good experience!
