Confession: I haven't been home to Detroit in over a month and I'm going back this weekend to visit a friend who will be in from out of town who I haven't seen in years....I sort of don't want to make the trip just because of gas costs and having to stay at my parents house.

Not really WR, but... FI went to Chicago to go to the Tigers/Cubs game. He was supposed to come home today and go straight to work, but he ended up getting the rest of the night off. I was so excited because he would be home early enough to go out to dinner, and it is Ann Arbor's resturant week. But instead he decided to stop in Kalamazoo and go golfing. Now he won't be home until 8. I'm kind of miffed, because we go to AARW every year, and he has to work every other night this week. Golf over dinner with me?? Not ok.

Vent- I went to get my hair "trimmed" today. I knew the ends were bad but I guess I didnt realize just how much damage the highlights and colorings had done. I havent colored in awhile so to get my hair looking healthier. I told the lady I was getting married in May 2014 and wanted my health longer and healthier for the style I wanted. She suggested to do a big chop to get rid of all the damage so my hair would grow healthier. SOOO she took off 6 inches. Its way shorter than I ever wanted and I felt like crying, but I know its better. I know this is silly, but needed to vent it!

My daughter's dad is a dork ( I can't use the other words I'd love to use).

She graduated from HS on Saturday. We have her party planned for July 7th, so it's after a lot of the other parties her friends are having (plus it gives me time to get my backyard in order). I ordered 40 invitations with her pictures from Shutterfly for him to send to his family and friends for the party he will have at his house. We don't do combined parties, because although we get along fine, his wife hates me, LOL. Plus, they have a much larger family, and his wife's family will also go. Would be just a wee bit awkward to combine them.

So, when I asked my daughter when her dad is having the party she looked dejected and said she didn't know. When she made her first communion he was going to throw her a party and didn't (we had one at our house for just my family). His entire family is so last minute (ie disorganized)  that they are still deciding who is going to have the big Christmas Eve bash 2-3 days beforehand. It makes life so friggin hard, and this is magnified by the importanct to my daughter that this is a graduation party, not a little deal like her first communion. 

He is a loving dad to her, and very proud of her. However, she's grown up living with me most of the time and sees him on weekends and vacations. My family plans everything early, and arrive early for things.............she totally understands the difference between us. I just wish he'd get on the bandwagon and pick a darned date for the party so she at least knows it matters to him.

OK, end of vent. Feel better.
