Hi - would love some input...if anyone has seen the band & has comments please share!

My fiance and I had been planning to use one of his friends as DJ but recently I discovered a big band (15 piece dance band) and now we are considering the idea of band vs. DJ. Also, it has made me reconsider if we do end up with a DJ I might want to find someone more polished!
And we just saw them perform this weekend. They are great. The issue is cost!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
2- 45 min sets for $3500
recorded music for dinner $free
DJ service (their sound guy) $125/hour
*possibly consider additional set $800
*2nd additional set $650
But I think we can just make it work if I save on flowers/decorations, etc. which we haven't booked yet. Also we haven't booked the cake yet either. So if we are going to splurge I want to know soon before I finish these details. I know I would rather have more money for our honeymoon...tentatively thinking Venice, so I started to search if there was a "step-down" version of the Rhythm Society Orchestra. I found a few but haven't seen them in person yet. One is the Monroe Big Band:

Around $1600 for 2 hours ( I saw the price on gigmasters.com)
HAS ANYONE ENJOYED/HATED either: Rhythm Society or Monroe Big Band????????????????????????????????
Also if we do have a band, I like the idea of the "big band" and not just a cover band. My fiance used to play in bands and he doesn't want it to feel like a gig. But if anyone has a recommendation of a another band, I am open. We like oldies/ Motown/ everything but rap/country mostly. I especially like 50s-70s music, which is what we would have as "DJ" music for the rest of the night.
So we are going for a casual elegance overall.
Apologies for the long post, just wanted to provide enough background.
Thanks!
