help finding a photographer

I'm have the hardest time deciding on a photographer. I've interviewed a few and I just can't seem to find one that I feel comfortable with and that fits my budget. I can't afford to spend more than $2000 on a photographer, after visiting a few I'm not even sure if that is too high or too low of a price. Can anyone recommend a good one?

    I'm using Plum Soda Productions. They do Photo AND Video. I'm getting both at 1500. I've heard a few ladies recommend them as well.

    We are using Sam Sarkis in Novi. Our package is $2400, but I'm pretty sure they have a few packages that are around $2000. They were on the preferred vendors list at our venue, and we like them so far.

    Erin Werner has some great stuff. I think she may be just a little over your budget but she will work with you I'm sure to create a package in your budget - good luck :-)

    Make sure you know what you want from your photographer and be very forward about it. Sam Sarkis has gotten a few bad reviews on TK.

    Awaiting the final pics but we loved our photographer, Jen MacPherson of Amanda Williams. She's in your price range.

    Ditto this. Our original photographer is a preferred vendor with our reception venue and it just didn't work. Please keep in mind that "preferred vendors" generally pay a fee for that title.

    I am using Essence of Life Photography (http://www.eolphotography.com). They have been excellent to work with so far (husband and wife team). It is great to have two photographers and they are still in your price range. Check out my bio for engagement pics.

    I'm using American Photographers, and I absolutely LOVE Clint.  He has a very wide range of pricing and I'm sure you'll be able to find something in your range with him.

    You said you’ve interviewed a few photographers and are having the hardest time deciding.  Do you feel that you want to look at more?  If so I’ll recommend my photographer, Mishelle from Bliss Photography.  We’ve gotten some teasers back and totally recommend her.  (http://www.blissbymishelle.com)

    But if you’re looking for advice to choose from the ones you’ve already interviewed, I recommend surfing their blogs and websites.  Really look at the pictures. When you look at their collection, are most of them ones you would want of yourself?  And when you meet them, did you click with them personally?  You’ll spend a lot of time with them.  Is it someone you want around you when you’re getting ready and there are only a few of you in the room?  Are you confident that they can be focused and organized and take all of the pictures you want in the time you want? 

    In the end you really just have to go with your gut but these are things I took into consideration when picking out our photographer and it worked for me!

    I used KBL Photography & was very happy.
    I originally had my heart set on Amanda Williams (or Jen) but they were booked. I love Amy Boeve's work too.
