Colors....

How did you choose your wedding colors? Did you feel like you had to try to match your flower colors to the rest of the wedding? I love peonies but I don't think my FI would go for a pink wedding... I was thinking more of a blue/green/purple... like a peacock-color theme.... is that silly? Thoughts?

I think the peacock colors would be nice but I would try to have flowers that match as well.  I chose my colors (pink and green) because I've liked the color combination for a while.  I thought they were nice and bright for a summer wedding.

That's a very pretty combo. I would LOVE pink... how did you get your FI agree to pink? LOL.

My girls dresses were navy blue...it was always my favortie color.  I chose silver as an accent but only really used it for some things.

As far as my flowers , they were all bright fall colors and suggested by my florist....I knew I wanted fall type flower colors (yellows, oranges, etc.) and took their suggestions as to what would look good with the girls dresses....i wasn't picky on the type of flower....I say if you like peonies though, no reason not to have them.

Good thing was, my FI could have cared less about colors :)

i think just about everyone is doing the peacock color scheme nowasays lol

just think of color combos that you love, and talk to your FI about what combos he likes, then come up with something that works for both of you. sometimes it's nothing like think you wanted, but end up loving anyway. i always wanted purple, he wanted blue. neither of us were happy with the other person's colors, so we went with green accented with brown. it works.

I think the peacock theme sounds nice! I personally haven't seen it done, so if you love it, go for it!

As much as I love bright colors like pink, I am equally obsessed with grey and that was a color my FI was a lot more comfortable with.  We're also accenting with purple & silver.  I will have some pinks in the bouquet because I am a fan of bouquets and CP's with some color!

But, with that said, I don't have all the specifics planned out yet (9/30/11 bride) so obv, things may change.

I really wanted to use pink also, but knew FI wouldn't go for it and really didnt want to make my girls buy a pink dress, so I went with a royal blue, and I am going to do pink flowers to make a pretty summer combo

ive always loved the classic look of black and white, so i always knew i wanted that.  I threw in the pink for the flowers for things to pop and its my favorite color.   My girls wore black dresses and carried a mix of hot pink and light pink roses and gerber daisies. The men wore black tuxes with white shirts and dark silver vests and ties to break things up a bit, it looked awesome against the girls with their black dresses, I wore ivory and carried light pink roses, hubby wore black tux with ivory everything else.

Peacock colors are very nice and very popular right now, like PP said, think of you favorite colors and color combos and ask fiance what he thinks to. You can always have pink flowers mixed in, with other colors on the dresses :)

Is your fiance really going to care about the flowers? Odds are probably not.

Go with pink peonies as your flowers and then select a bridesmaid dress color that both you and he like (or are both ok with)

And ideally select one that will go with pink flowers!

I'm thinking navy or as deep blue or silver would be great - that way you can have both blue and pink or silver and pink as your color scheme. You both get bridesmaids in colors that you both like (or at least can deal with) and you Ms. PinkPeonyBride get your pink peonies as wedding flowers! :)
