Hi Ladies! Well, the planning process is starting for me and I need to know how much I can expect to pay for having a Westchester/NYC wedding? How much did each of your vendors cost??  Smile

A lot of things are going to vary greatly, especially your reception hall. Things can be fairly inexpensive, but they can also get super pricey depending on what you want.
Here are some prices we paid:
    dj - 2k
    limos - 2k
    photographer 3500
    church - 400
with tax and tip, our reception was 100pp on a Friday in November

    dj- 1275
    photo-3500
    video 1800
    limos-2k
venue- $89/head and that was because it was a friday night
flowers- mine were 1k, but my venue did the centerpieces
    church-400 or so
favors, paper items- those can add up!

It's going to vary because everyone values things differently.  The biggest variety will be on place.  These are my approximate prices
    Photographer-4000
    florist-3200
    Band-6000
    dress-1200
venue-100pp for a Sunday in July

Venue- $95pp (before tax or tip)... I think it was around $130 with everything included.  This was for a Friday night in April.
    Flowers- $3000
    DJ- $1800
    Photo- $1500
    Video- $1750
    LImo- $900
    Church- $800
    Hair/Makeup (including trials)- $450
Dress and accessories (veil, shoes, gloves)- $1100
    Wedding bands- $1000

I can't think of any other large expense except for paper...... I did a lot of DIY and paper can add up, but I didn't keep count on what I spent (thank god!!)

So far, these are my numbers:

Venue $90 pp with out tax and gratuity, plus $500 for ceremony site fee
Photographer $4,250 or around that much for package
    Dress $1,800 with alterations
    Veil $150
    Full Planning Wedding Coordinator $2,500

Prices are definitely going to vary - most of my vendors are from Westchester with the exception of my venue and florist.  We are also having a large wedding - 364 invited and 250 guaranteed - budgeted at $65,000, over by about $7,000 right now

Venue $170 per person once you figured in tax, gratuity and a two hour after party; $1200 ceremony fee at venue (Friday in November)
Photographer $5,600 but that included 1,000 proofs, our album and 2 photographers for 13 hours.
Dress $1,500 without alterations (alterations are capped at 350)
    Flowers $1900
    DJ- $1900 (for six hours)
Wedding bands- $2500 (for me and FI's band)

I'd say, that even if you have a small wedding, you're looking at 30k.  I'm at about 22k and that's with negotiating every single element of the wedding (originally hoped for 15k but it was just too unrealistic)

venue 80/pp plus gratuity and tip... works out to be about 115
    photographer  1400
    video  535 for 3.5 hours
dress- bought a sample for 590 and alterations were 240
    wedding bands-2100
    honeymoon-3500
    dj 750
    ceremony fee 600
officiant-600 (this is the one I had the biggest problem with...600 for a 30 minute ceremony!)
    invitations 300
tipping- this is one you really have to plan for since its alot of cash at the last minute

Good Luck!!  Keep us posted on your planning :)

I forgot these as well. My dress was 1300 plus a few hundred for alterations. Veil was $100, shoes were $150. Hair and makeup - I don't remember exactly anymore, but around $300 for the day-of, plus trials. Wedding bands - 1k. A few hundred in tips. Florist - 1k, but we did our own centerpieces. DIY - probably a few thousand.

All told, with our honeymoon we spent a little over $30k

I stopped keeping track but my budget was $30K.  I think we might have gone over it.
However, I know someone that did it for $15K.

Personally, I think your wedding can be as "cheap" or expensive as you want it to be....You should really figure out your budget first.

I didnt have a budget b/c my parents were wonderful enough to pay for the entire event,in the end we ended up spending about $42,000.00 for everything

Venue- $128.00 pp not including tax & $500.00 ceremony fee
    Flowers- $1350.00
DJ- $1500.00 bc he was a family friend
    Photo- $5600.00
    Hair/Makeup (including trials)- $350.00
Dress and accessories (veil, shoes, gloves)- $3200.00
    Wedding bands- $1700.00

then you have to factor in all of the "little things also"
i agree with with Ssage your wedding can be as expensive or inexpensive as you want it to be.

You guys are awesome! Thank so much for sharing the numbers. Alot of places have emailed me their price list and so far they are around 120-185pp. Have you guys been able to negotiate on your venue?

Smangini...some will, some will not but I think they negotiate the price less now b/c they can get someone else to book the day you want...but sometimes if you are under the minimum, you can get them to include vendors as part of your count.

Everything will vary. You will see the greatest range in venue. And can get great rates if you are flexible with day, time and month. But it's good to seea range for what to expect in the hudson Valley.

Our total day came to just over $28K. I wanted to stay closer to $24. But oh well.

Venue - After tax and tip were factored in, it came to $114pp. (We had a Saturday night in June and this was a great rate)

    Church - $600

Photo - After everything, it's costing us about $5800. Don't ask.

    Video - $2000

Limo - $600 (we just had the rolls royce for us)

Bouquets and chuch flowers - $1200

Reception flowers - $300 (Stop and Shop)

    Invites and postage - $600

    Favors - $300

    Dress - $1000

Veil, tiara, shoes, bra, slip, jewelry, purse - $500 for all

    Alterations - $300

    Hair - $125 (went to a salon)

    Make-up - $85 (went to a salon)

That's the big stuff. And there's save the dates, calligraphy, hotel for the wedding night, we paid for the rehearsal dinner, bridal party gifts, tips, mani/ pedi, etc. The little things add up. But you can save lots of money on your reception hall depending on when and where you decide to book. The other stuff can be figured throughout the planning process.

    Good luck!

If you're flexable on your days, prices will vary significantly. We are having our wedding on a thursday night, and got almost 70/off pp!!! Dj's florists etc heaper on off days...if you're looking at staying within a certain budget. It may be something to think about! Only other suggestion is when you're looking at your venues and meet in person, go with your gut feeling on the person you meet with. I had alot of complications in venue searching.....now that I've booked my venue (Glen Island Harbour Club) everything is falling in place (and in budget) nicely! Good luck

Prices can really vary.  For us, we're chosen to spend more on some things and less on others:

Venue: 150 pp plus tax and tip
Photo: 6k (incl albums, engagement shoot, guestbook)
    Video: 750
    Dress: 3k plus bustle
    Veil: 300
    Favors: 70
Stationary, incl Save the Dates, menus, favor tags, OOT booklets, programs, etc: 2k
    Hair: 200
    Makeup: 150
    Guest Shuttles: 2400
    DJ: 1k
    Band: 1k
    Limo: 700

I'm sure I'm forgettting things, but you get the idea
