DJ with Percussion - can someone explain this to me?

I was really hoping to have a cover band/bar band play at our wedding but I can't seem to find any around.  I've seen a few posts on here from brides who used Jimmy Dee for a DJ with percussion.  Can someone explain how the percussion is added in to the DJ (not really understanding how this sounds) and give me a general price for dj and percussion?

And if anyone has suggestions on bar bands in the area that would be great too!

Basically, a guy with a drum set sets up next to the DJ and plays along with the songs. I personally find it incredibly random and awkward.

    Jimmy Dee does this.

  • I've been to a few Jimmy Dee weddings where they've had the percussion.  The MC will sit at a drum set and play drums to the song for some songs.  It's random as someone else said.  They also have saxophonists and a few other random instruments as add ons to your package.
  • Thansk for the input ladies - I'm not a fan of "random" when it comes to how my music sounds.  I think I'll stick to regular DJ or band.
