Photographers in Poughkeepsie

So i am on a role this week booking vendors left and right! HOWEVER i am in dire need of a good photographer in the Poughkeepsie area, does anyone know of a good one or has used one before they can tell me about?

Also how important would you say video is?

i used Majestic STudios and loved them.

I don't think video is that important.  Up until about two weeks before the wedding i didn't have a video person and didn't want it.  Then i had a change of heart but didn't want to spend a ton....went with Halo Video and paid less than $1000.  It is nice to have the video now but i certainly think if you are on a budget, there are better ways to spend the money, imo.

I am going to be using Felix Unger Photography. The guys actual name is David Dugatkin and he is from the New Paltz area. He has lots of different packages and is really affordable. I know he has a pretty good website if you google him.
Also, what really sold us on him, is that he does both photo and takes video of the important moments (vows, first dance, cake cutting). Part of his package is that he makes a DVD slideshow with music out of your photos and puts in snippets of the video he takes, so that it shows your day from beginning to end. Another great part of what he does is allows you to make copies of that DVD (we are thinking of sending copies of it with our thank you cards) as well as a low price for buying ALL of your photos on a disc. Then you can either buy prints/albums from him or make them wherever/whenever you want.

I used Kim Coccagnia http://www.kimberlycoccagnia.com/.  She is located in Beacon.  I loved how my pictures came out, and she was great to work with (and very affordable)!

We're using Elissa Davidson of EID Photography.  She's unreal!  I booked her over the summer & our wedding isn't till next April!  She's already had several calls for our date too.

It depends on the style that works for you and your budget.  We're using Robert Wayne Photography who is actually in NJ but he showed us a few albums from Poughkeepsie, Goshen, and across the HV.  He's frequently recommended on the NJ board.

We're not doing professional video.  I don't need or want anything highly processed so we're just going to put a handicam on a tripod and let it run for the ceremony.  A friend will get a couple of the key moments durnig the reception (first dance, toast, cake, etc.).  That's all we want for video; kind of news coverage.
