make up trial question

Hi,

I'm getting married in Westchester in August. I have a few quotes from make up people, The prices are fairly comparable. How many trials do most people do? I live in Boston, so it would be hard to come down for numerous trials? Any tips? Thanks!

    I did four... I'm extremely picky when it comes to makeup and wasn't happy with any of my trials until I found my makeup artist lol

    I did 1 but I knew from the start that I was going to love her.  I suggest Jenny Migliano who owns Makeup by Jenny.  She's been in the industry for years...does film and print too!   Fabulous!!!

    Am I crazy only doing one trial?  I am only coming in a week before the wedding and have never met the hair dresser and don't know anything about her.  It is someone sister of someone my mother works with.  My mother doesn't have a hair dresser and really don't know many people in the town I am from.
