New York-Hudson Valley

So I'm a little lost on the whole tipping thing

When I glanced at the tipping chart on The Knot after I picked my jaw off the floor thought I would post here.

20% gratutities are included in my contract for my venue for ther servers and valet parking.

Other then the following folks who else whould I be mindful of tipping?

1) Hair & makeup artist - I'm assuming 20% of her total charge.
2) Bridal attendant
3) Manager @ Venue
4) DJ?
5) Head waiter for us?

Who else should i be tipping?
I'm already paying my Officiant $600 I'm supposed to tip on top of that?
Jeeeeeeesus! Really?

6) The Florist?
The florist is providing me w/g guys to set up the flowers for for my ceremony and then they will be moving them to the reception room. I guess I should tip them? Should i do it before hand? I don't want to walk around w/ envelopes all day.
We have a tentative contract w/ the florist and will finalize next month.  I wonder if when we meet w/ the florist we talk about the tipping then and perhaps add it onto then?

7) Limo svc?

Am I missing anyone? I should have eloped! Good God!

20% gratuity was included in our venue contract as well. I emailed our coordinator there to make sure that went to the servers and bartenders (because some venues don't give it to everyone they should). On top of that 20% we tipped our bridal attendant, but not our coordinator.

We also tipped our hair and makeup artists 20%,and  the dj and mc ($75 each). I did not tip the limo driver because gratuity was included in our contract, and I didn't tip the florist or photographer.

We didn't tip our coordinator but the hall gave us an idea as to what the maitre'd should get.  I also put some money away for the bridal attendant we had.  Aside from that we tipped

    1) the bus driver
    2) the limo driver
    3) hair person
    4) makeup person
    5) tipped the flower delivery guy (although he didn't deserve it)

My husband was in charge of tipping and told me he would handle it.  So, I have no clue what he tipped but:

Our venue gave us a suggestion for the maitre d'.  I think it was something like $200-400.

I belive he tipped the dj, photographer's assistant, video guy (he went above and beyond), bartenders (our crowd are big drinkers and that is an important thing to us), bus shuttle driver.

I think he might have tipped the limo driver but I am not sure.  He never looked at or signed a contract so even if I told him not to tip someone, it didn't matter LOL

I know we did not tip the florist, photog.

I tipped my hair stylist and her assitant for everyone as well as the makeup artist.

I think the "rule of thumb" is you do not tip someone if they own the business (like a photographer).  Someone please correct me if I am wrong.

I would suggest you give a small tip to the florist assistant's moving those ceremony flowers.

My mom keeps reassuring me of that, too, but I wasn't sure... Seriously all of my vendors own the business. Does that mean I don't tip anyone? hehe
