how much should one spend on their brides maid gifts

I am not sure what I should spend on brides maids gifts? does anyone have an idea and what would be a great gift for them or for the grooms men?

I got my girls coach hand bags but wasn't sure if I should get them anything else. I have 1 Jr. Bridesmaid and I got her a coach wrist bag. For the guys I am having a hard time deciding.

For my girls, I got them a nice makeup bag, then I filled it with earrings and a bracelet for the wedding, lip gloss, a note pad and a gift certificate (different for each girl, matching their personalities)

for the boys, my husband and I went to woodbury commons and bought them all watches, again different to match their personalities.

I probably spent $125 on all the girls, and between $100-$200 on each of the boys.

I agree that it all depends on budget and how many people.
I had 2 MOHs and they got gift certificates to a local spa, customized stationary and a necklace to wear in the wedding.  I also paid for thier nails
the other 2 BMs got spa finder gift cards for a lesser price (they are OOT) and the same stationary and necklace.

The 2 FGs and RBs got build a bears and then the girls got barbies, the boys got baseball bats with their name

I bought them personalized totes and my aunt is making jewelry for them and I am placing folding flats so they can feel comfortable at the receptiton. I am also thinking about paying for their hair and makeup.

I'm in the process of this and so far I'm getting each person something wedding related and non wedding related.

The guys will be getting personalized gifts - one a bobblehead, one a travel cigar case, one whiskey stones.  Then they will get ties for the wedding and whatever else my FI might want to do.

The girls are getting Swarovski earrings for the wedding, I'm paying for the tip for the makeup and hair and I'm also paying for a day of mani's/pedi's the day before the wedding.  Then I'll be getting a personalized gift for each but haven't figured out what yet. 

Hope that helps.  I think you should do what's in your power.  I wanted to do a little extra for the girls becaues I don't think my mother is being helpful with the bridal shower and I really appreciate everything they're doing for me to make this special.  I have an amazing set of girls.  Spend what you're comfortable with but my suggestion if you have a tighter budget is to do something personalized for each because it'll mean a little more.  There's no right or wrong here

I purchased the pins my bridesmaids will be wearig on their dresses for them as gifts, and I will probably be getting them a jewelry set or small makeup bag as well, with a extra something for my MOH.
