Grandview Brides or Near the Grandview Brides...

Hey Ladies,

I wanted to ask those of you getting married at the Grandview, the Grand Hotel, or anywhere near there about photography.  I want something innovative to go to for pictures.  Where do you plan to take pics?  Thanks!

We took pictures at the train station - they were awesome! Lots of great architecture/details - plus there's no problem if it rains!

Did you need a permit for that?  I'd also like to do my pictures there :)

We just showed up - there was no one there except for some janitors...
  • We are going up on the midhudson bridge and down on the docks mostly.

  • You could do the train station, the Walkway over the Hudson, Waryas Park, Locust Grove.  I am not sure how far you want to travel though.

  • We plan on doing Wayrus Park and the train station!  Also planning on doing some engagement shots at Locust Grove.

  • We planned on the train station, but ran out of time! Our photographer wanted us to enjoy cocktail hour (and I'm so glad we did- yum!!) Our wedding ended at about 5 and cocktail hour started at 6. We did all of our pictures at our church actually and loved how they came out.

So sorry that isn't much help, but make sure you keep in mind how long it will travel to each location. If you are fine missing all or most of the cocktail hour, then go for it!

And as I always say- the Grandview was FANTASTIC- we loved our day there- you will not be disappointed! Laughing

  • Thanks ladies!  And Cathy, I'll definitely check those places out!  I just want to do something a little different, not go crazy.  I will do church photos because our church is architecturally gorgeous!  Then we'll do the dock photos and the hudson bridge backdrop photos but we'd like to do something  a little different.  Don't want to go on the bridge because it's been over done you know.
