Hi ladies - hope everyone had a good weekend.

WR: We put my band on layaway - Zales is having a huge sale and it was a great deal.

NWR: We didn't do much. FI cleaned my car yesterday and it looks fabulous. We babysay a friend's 6 month old daughter on Saturday night. I'm also on book 3 of Fifty Shades of Gray. I don't know how I got sucked into that book!

That's so exciting that you already have your band picked out and everything!

WR: I called and scheduled 4 dress shopping appointments for August 25-26 when my parents are in town.  We also ordered our save the date magnets from vistaprint.

NWR: We went to my friends birthday party and went to a birthday dinner for my FI's little brother.

Aww - I want to pick out my wedding band.

At first I thought you meant a band to play at the wedding.. I was like "they let themselves get put on layaway these days!?!"

Anyway -- I went to a wedding on Saturday night as a date with my friend (her husband couldn't go last minute), I had a great time! The bride looked gorgeous! Also - I had my 2nd Weight Watchers meeting today, 4 lbs down! 21 to go. FI and I are going to Six Flags on Wednesday, so I am pretty excited for that.

WR: We had a clambake over the weekend and I am saving clamshells to make candles for the escort card/favors. I haven't done the final count with them as they are washed and currently drying, but after two clambakes I think I might have enough now.
Waiting to hear from my photographer about our Engagement Session appointment. It should be sometime in September (hopefully late Sept so I can lose a few more pounds before hand).

Ooooo how are you going to turn clam shells into candles? Sounds neat! WR: We booked the other kind of band! There's a local cover band we love that plays an unusual, somewhat "old school" mix that's right up our alley. FI is old friends with the drummer, and they offered us the "friends and family" rate, making them in budget! Very, very excited about this. NWR: LOTS of Olympics, and catching up on my work from home job doing research for one of my grad school professors. Have a good week everyone!

I am melting wax & adding a wick into the clam shell, then putting guests names/table numbers on (something nicer than) a toothpick.

Here is a draft mock-up:



The names/table numbers will be printed on the final ones. I am excited to get these started!

That's awesome you found your band!

NWR: FH and I went to visit my family.  We spent the weekend boating on the lake! It was so awesome!

WR: Not much, just a bunch of talking and idea sharing with my sis (MOH) and cousin (BM) oh yeah a 4 year old flower girl, lol.

Aww: I am jelous. I can't wait to pick out our wedding bands!! All of you got so much wedding stuff done this weekend!! Congrats! I love hearing  everyones progress

WR: Nothing to report.

NWR: FI & I went backpacking this weekend. Spent 2 days hiking up and down steep hills carrying a 50 pound pack on my back. Needless to say I am very sore today but all in all it was a great weekend. We had a blast!

Ohh I'm jealous! I want to go pick out my wedding band

WR: Finished making my table numbers, they are little chalkboards I made that I'm attaching to the centerpieces. Now on to my next DIY project.

NWR: Nothing really, just doing homework and work. I can't wait for summer semester to be over. Going up north with the FI in 2 weeks!

You ladies just need to find a good sale and convince FI that you HAVE to get in on the sale. Just sayin'

Railway: awesome to hear about backpacking! I've been running every morning before work and did 3 miles this morning. Thus, making me feel VERY accomplished before 7am. I always try to convince FI we should go hiking, but he's not into the idea.

Jealous about backpacking as well! We love to hike and backpack but haven't had a chance with crazy work schedules this year. Sounds like a good weekend for everybody!
