ok 2 crazy questions but I'll go for it

1) Where did you get your bridal shoes or plan on getting your shoes?..
how high of a heel did you or are you going for?

I sent away for 2 pairs already both were a no go :-( but I really want comfort but hot looking shoes that I can last 9hrs in!

Also for those who have been married --
What's the one song -- besidies your wedding song that sticks out in your mind that you think made your wedding rock? Everyone got up and danced etc?

Thanks!

i don't remember which site but i ordered from shoes.com, endless.com and shoebuy.com.  I needed flats because i am already taller than my hubby.  Honestly, once the reception began, they were gone and i was in slippers.  they weren't uncomfy, i just hate wearing shoes to dance at weddings.  i got cute ivory slippers with a flower from llbean.

Everone danced our whole reception....but i noticed everyone loved some of the 80s stuff and also a Sweet Home Alabama mix....but i can't really pick one song...they were up all night.

I got my shoes at Davids Bridal.  They had a 3.5" heel. All the reviews said they were really comfortable and they were. I never took them off.  I checked their website and I don't see them now unfortunately.

Our dance floor was full all night but the 70s disco / 80s  dance songs definitely had everyone moving. Even my 89 year old grandmother.

I know a lot of people don't want to include songs that they think are 'cheesy wedding songs' but honestly, they got that way because people enjoy dancing to them.

i got mine from zappos. i wore flats. i'm not a fan of heels so i knew that i wouldn't last in them so why even bother in the first place? i just got some great flat sandals that i loved and wore them. they were purple, and i can (and have) worn them again!

our music was a mix of oldies and pop mostly, with a few irish songs thrown in. people seemed to like all of it!

Mine are from Ann Taylor. They are about 3 inches. I am hoping I will be ok in them the whole night. I will bring flip flops or something else to change into every so often or maybe take them off when I sit down.

My shoes were Filippa Scott. Normally they are pretty pricey, but I ordered mine online through their USA online shopping site on sale and got a really good deal. They were 2 1/2" (I could not have any higher or I would have had to order extra length on my dress) They come with built in cushions and were sooo comfortable, I wore them all night no problem!

Bon Jovi Living on a Prayer got everyone on the dance floor to sing and dance along! It was a college favorite for us so that may have been part of it.

I'm wearing 4 1/4 in heels and got them on zappos.com

    http://www.zappos.com/rsvp-rain-cushioned-by-foot-petals-navy-satin

they have a 3/4 in platform though so it doesn't feel as high as it looks, and I am use to wearing heels anyway. Fi is 14 inches taller then me so I still don't come close to him! They have built in cushions at the heel and ball of foot, and I wore them around work for a few days to make sure they were broken in, and they never gave me any issues. But I will see on Saturday if I last all night in them!

Got my "something blue" shoes at DSW.  They were a pretty silvery-blue (not bright clown blue) with a little rhinestone and bow.  They were 1.5 inches (cus my husband is short like me).

I can't believe it, but "Lady's Night"... like the only funk song got EVERYBODY to dance.  Somebody started a ridiculous line dance to it and even my grandpa jumped in.

I got two pairs of shoes, ordered them online from Zappos.
One was White - with  4 1/2 inch heel
and the other pair was Fuchsia, same size heels.
I am only 5 feet and wear heels all the time, so i was used to them, wouldnt have changed a thing.

Love to say this, but our dance floor wasnt empty all night!!! Everyone was up and dancing all night long! One song that really sticks out is "Sweet Caroline" but not the old version, the remixed one. Everyone was singing and jumping around!

I am just going to be starting my search for shoes, glad you asked this. I am sure I will get a few pairs before I make the final chose. I am a heel girl all the way and definately want red!

I bought a cute, cheapo pair of 1 inch heels at Camille La Vie.  I kept them on for pics, the ceremony, cocktail hours and the first dances.  I  had a pair of David's Bridal platform flip flops waiting for me under the sweetheart table (one of the best decisions of the night). I wasn't really into the shoe thing- I don't buy leather and have nasty neuromas in my feet.  Shoe shopping isn't fun for me :(

Our band did a great job of getting people moving- some standouts that I noticed people rocking out to were Livin' on a Prayer, an Andrea Bocelli song (DH found a way to rock out to this- it was adorable), Run Around Sue, the Tarantella followed by Lazy Mary, Danny Boy, I've Gotta Feeling and Thank God I'm a Country Boy,

My shoes were also from David's Bridal (I had the same shoes as Bat, and they were comfortable, but are now discontinued). They had a 3 1/2 " heel with a small platform. So it was a 3" arch. I also bought, at Payless no less, 1" flats but never wore them. I wore my wedding shoes (and veil) all night! My sister thought I was crazy! lol!

Our DJ did a great job and kept the dance floor filled through out the night - BIG hits from the 50's through the 80"s got our guests moving. With a range of ages, most everyone knows those songs. Also, The Twist, Runaround Sue, Let's get Loud and Pretty Woman. Those songs all had memorable moments on the dance floor. Oddly enough, only my sister and her boyfriend were on the floor (and they used the whole dance floor!) during Sweet Caroline. It was played just as dinner was ending, I think to get everyone up and dancing, but they were the first out there, so everyone just enjoyed watching them!

I loved hearing all the stories. Thanks ladies.

I'm sure between now and May I'm bound to find a shoe that are sexy, not too high. I took have to be careful becasue the way the bottom of my dress is detailed it was recommended to me not to have anything higher then a 2 1/2" heel. However all I'm fiding in 2 1/2" heels are Grandma shoes :(  I know even if a chose I higher heel I have to be careful becasue you can't always cut the heel down. I'll keep searchin'.

My black up plan will be to have purrrtyyy flip flops on hand. But I think I'll try to stick it out in my shoes if I can.

    Thanks again.

My shoes were also Ann Taylor and were over 3". I wore them the whole time, and didn't realize how bad my feet hurt till I got home.

The best dance floor song for us was "U Can't Touch This"

Hi - just want to mention that you won't have until May, you'll need to have your shoes for your first fitting which will probably be sometime in March. Just a heads up!

I got mine at endless.com (after an unsuccessful ordering attempt at Zappos-they were defective) and they were 2 1/2 in. I needed to walk a bit, so it was really important they not be too high-they were gorgeous though-silver rhinestones, very vintage looking. I also got Guess flip flps from DSW, which I switched into half the way through the dancing-they god I had them.

Thanks for the heads up Terri. I'll continue my search. I think I'm going to have to see if I can find a kickin' 2 1/2" heel. I saw a pair on Endless.com Rhinestones acrross the toes and the ankle but one of the reiews was you have to have reeeeeeeeally tiny ankles for these shoes ..... grrrrrr I don't! ....

Last thing I want is to keep paying for fricken shipping charges tho so I have to be mindful of that. Thanks again for all the feedback.
