Photographers in the Hudson Valley

So my FH's brother was/is paying for our photographer. Unfortunately we just found out he is using drugs again and after my FH has a talk with him that he predicts won't go over well, we will probably not have a photographer. Now I want to start looking just in case we lose the photographer, are there any suggestions?? Preferrably nothing too expensive...otherwise I won't have a photographer. I'm on the verge of tears...I know how his brother is and we will most likely not have a photographer or someone to do my hair.

Wow...I'm so sorry that is happening to you and your family. My cousin has a drug addiction so I understand how hard it is. It's never easy and always complicated. As for a photographer....a few things. Are you looking for certain things in a package? Albums, rights to photos, epics, etc? It'll help us give you more direction with the pricing part.

Honestly I don't want a major package. I'd be happy with just getting pictures and the rights too. I can easily make my own album. I know one of my family members will have a TON of pictures because she already told me she will be in our faces all day...but still.

And not even to mention his brother is doing this again. I've heard things that he has gone through before...and I think it is ridiculous. My FH might even ask him to step down as a groomsman. It's horrible.

Again, totally understand. My cousin has relapsed a lot, and it just feels like she's never going to get better. I pray for her everyday that she will, and I will keep him in my t&p's as well

We used Majestic Studios for photo (and video).  They have a number of packages and will work to design somethng that will fit your budget.

I'm so sorry you are going though this.  My photographer's basic package starts at $3900, but I'm sure you can't find what you're looking for at a lower price. Some other photographers I contacted were Elissa Davidson, Cheryl Barra, todd johnson, and kovner studio. I am not sure about their prices.  Also consider Christopher from Christopher Studios (he has a good reputation and many packages).  I also met with Rick Helman, but his prices were high and I liked Bill's work a lot more.  Good luck.

You should look into Nick Carter. I believe his packages are pretty affordable.

Alfonso from photographybyalfonso.com has been amazing with helping us. My sister and her husband are photographers but since they are in the wedding party I needed a professional to come and take the photos. He is giving us a high def cd with all the rights to the photographs. He is very reasonably priced and comes with 2 photographers.

Look into Kristine Palmer.  She's an absolute sweetheart and her packages start at $1760!  She always has an assistant with her and give you all photos in 4x6 and 8x10 format.  She is going to be our photographer and actually just shot the wedding of our dj!  Give her a call, she's wonderful.

So sorry you're having to deal with this! Our photographer, Kim Coccagnia is very reasonably priced, and flexible, so I'm sure she'd work with you to design a package that meets your needs and budget. Our pictures are beautiful!!!

Check out Hillary Harvey. We found her very very reasonable compared to others in the area. She is an absolute sweetheart too, a Knot 2010 pick and the only vendor we knew after meeting that we absolutely wanted to hire. She was the only photographer we met with. She hasn't done our wedding yet, but I just know she's going to be great. I think her basic 8 hour with hi res DVD was something like $2400.

Hi.  We might be using Linda Bernadic.  Her prices start at $750, her and her husband shoot together.  We met them, they are very nice.
