Westchester Bridal Gowns?

I've been asking around for recommendations on where to go for my gown. I've heard mixed reviews about Meme's in Larchmont and Amelia's in Mount Vernon. People have told me that there have been "nightmare" situations at both. Meme's was late in getting a dress for a relative of mine --she said it was the only stressful part of her wedding planning. And I've also heard that everything's great at Amelia's until they get your money.

Anyone have experience with either of these places? I tried on something I REALLY liked at Amelia's, so I'd be very interested in hearing about people's experience there.

Also, I'm looking to spend $2000 or under. Does anyone know if Botticelli's or Fontana's have a lot for that price point? Thanks for your help!

I got my dress at Amelia's and worked with Maria. I thought they were fantastic. I think their little old alteration lady is a miracle worker and my dress fit like a glove. They were pleasant with me throughout the entire process. Even when I picked up the dress and veil the day before hte wedding they were all so sweet and begged for me to send in pics of my day.

I'm sure you can have a negative experience anywhere, but just one girls opinion is that Amelia's is great.

Yes Fontana has things under $2000...mine was!  And so does botticellis.
Unfortunately, I had a not so good experience with Fontana and basically once they get your money...things went downhill from there.
I wish I had more of a better recommendation....but I felt very 'dismissed' once they had my money and they had a lot of my money because not only did I get my dress there, but also my veil, my headpiece, my shoes, my earrings, my mom's dress, my bridesmaid dresses, my flower girl dress....So the fact that they didn't treat us better...is ridiculous.   THey have a lot of young girls working the counter and down in the fitting area and they don't have the best people skills or customer relation skills.  The worst part is after all they put me through on the day before my wedding...my poor mom was carring my dress up their steep flight of stairs...nobody offered to help, nobody offered us good luck on the day, no congratulations...nothing.  I felt that it would have been nice if they had given a little attention to us considering the $ spent, etc.

Go to RK Bridal in NYC - period.

They are MUCH cheaper than all the places you listed.  THe dress I bought was 1/2 the cost from Amelia's and 60% than Meme's.

It's a warehouse they have a HUGE, HUGE, HUGE selection.  But, go weekday between 10-1 for the best service.  It's a walk in place.

I agree with prusgirl about going to RK Bridal. I got my wedding dress in about 2wks from the date I ordered it and they have such a great selection of dress.

I went to Fontana for my Flower girl dress and I thought they rushed me and I really wished I went somewhere else because I thought they were too pricey (Even the shoes were pricey)!!!

    Good Luck with your search
