bit of an alterations emergency

Hey girls. My dress came in and I had my first fitting and I just hated how it looked on me. I was able to locate a different dress and it's being shipped to me, but I won't have it until late next week. My wedding is in 25 days, so I'm cutting it really, really close. I'm panicking a little bit, but if anyone knows of a great seamstresses in the Dutchess County, Poughkeepsie area, can you let me know? I'm willing to travel like 20-30 mins from here, so all suggestions are appreciated. I just need someone reputable who can work fast! Thanks so much!

    Simply Unique on Route 22 in Pawling, NY.  She did my MOHs dresses and was wonderful and fast!

    Sorry to hear about your first dress!!

    There is a woman in Newburgh (about 30 min away from pk) named Vally Pullano who works out of her home.  She is an Italian lady who learned how to sew in Italy.  I have not used her yet, but quite a few people at my job do & can't say enough about her.  She sketched & created wedding dresses from scratch for a couple of the girls I work with.  I have seen pictures of them & they came out amazing!!! A lot of other women that I work with SWEAR by her for any alterations... I plan to use her in the near future to alter a bridesmaid dress that I will be wearing in a wedding in July.

    Maggie I think my Dad uses her!  (or used to since retirement he doesn't have much need for alterations!)

    I used Leslie at Alterations etc in Wappingers Falls. She did a great job! Good luck!
