Reasonable price for DJ?

We are getting married at Glen Island Harbour Club in New Rochelle next fall.  We will be hiring a DJ to do the whole day - our ceremony, cocktail hour and reception.  Does about $2K sound right?  We have heard nothing but rave reviews about this DJ, but I have no idea bout DJ pricing and what is and is not reasonable.  If anyone has any input - please let me know!!!  Thanks :)

We are paying $1600 for our DJ, but we're not using him as long as you'll be using yours (we're having a string trio for our ceremony - the DJ will only be providing music for our cocktail hour and reception). Our CH will be outside, though, and the reception inside, but we will have a separate setup in each area so he won't have to move any equoment in the middle of the event.  We thought he would charge extra for that, but he didn't.

We paid 2k for our dj for the reception so yes I say it's reasonable. Does that include any kind of lighting?

We're paying about $1100 for our DJ.  That includes the cocktail hour, reception, lighting and a video slide show.

we paid 1000 for our dj and he was going to throw in the ceremony for free (but we didn't need that) and the venue has music for the cocktail hour.

I would say if you were getting all that plus some other stuff, yes it is worth it.

    I'd say it's a reasonable price.
My DJ is charging $1,200 for ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception.
We are also having uplighting, which is costing us $350, and an additional $200 for him to bring equipment to play our memory montage. So we're paying a total of $1,750.

Thanks everyone!  I am just totally lost on planning and have no idea on pricing.  It sounded reasonable to me and the FI but just needed some reassurance.  We are getting uplighting, ceremony, cocktails and reception, so it definitely seems worth it.  Plus, the DJ's personality (Spencer, from Turntable Events) is amazing!!  Thanks and I hope everyone's turns out well!!
