But the whole "IT'S MY DAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYY" is so obnoxious. Etiquette exists for a reason. Sending invites out a week earlier than recommended is certainly no huge etiquette breach, but following etiquette is, in general, a good idea for obvious reasons.

I don't understand what the big deal is that she is excited that her invites went out.  And yes, she made the comment about the week early. She isn't jumping up and down screaming "it's my day" and frankly, she has been very honest in her questions on this board concerning what is the right thing to do.  And yes, I have definitely been on the "do what you want" bandwagon because although I followed etiquette in alot of ways, I also think that there is a time and a place for some of it (like the addressing of the envelopes....if not a formal affair, i don't see the need, just to use an example).  And, I also think that a bride should not be TOLD what to do by another bride.  In that sense, it IS her day and she has a right to have what she wants.  As I am sure there are some things you did that people didn't like, I am sure there are things I did that people didn't like.  In the end, however, I bet that you got comments, just like I did, about how great your wedding was and how much fun everyone had.  I even had my bridesmaids tell me that I was the easiest and most calm bride ever.
