Well let me tell you my wedding day was the day of all days!
I had beautiful weather <thank you Mom /> and everything turned out awesome.
Over and over again everyone raved about it being the best wedding they ever went to! Yaaaaaahooo.
The food was good, the weather was great, aside from a few hiccups....Um The DJ screwed up on my entrance song... I can't into it now because my blood pressure will just rise.
Bridal hair and makeup - was done by Rosemarie from NY Prostyle. Rosemarie was fantastic! She was the one who helped me out in the end when I when the original salon I was going thru to do my girls hair did a bait and switch and overcharged me enormously. Rosemarie worked hard and freed up 2 of her hairstylists and my girls
hair came out fantastic! I highly recommend Rosemarie. She is undeniably professional and knows her stuff and was such a pleasure to work with. She aced
the look I was going for and everyone kept commenting on my hair and makeup (aside from my dress - teehee -- I loved my dreess!)
Bridal party makeup was done by: Christine from Color Makeup Studio. Christine does fantastic work and is so affordable. She is so pleasant and is willing to do
whatever it takes to get the look you're going for. I highly recommend Christine as well.
Venue - The Fountainhead....All I know is Peter the Manager promised he would do anything and everything to make my day perfect and he did just that. I didn't have to worry about anything. My guests raved about the food, the service and how beautiful everything was. They were very accommodating.I was worried cause once there was a bad review on her but all you can do is go with your gut. I am so glad we stuck w/ the Fountainhead! They deserve all the kudos!
Flowers: Arcadia Florist...very professional....very accommodating. Loved all the flowers and loved the way they decorated the chapel for my ceremony
Sam was great and so was Erica.
Photographer- Picture This from CT - Mike Tomassi and 2 assistants were the best. Somehow he managed to keep me calm &eveyone in my family loved him. So much so my sister couldn't figure out my nephews tux and cuff links and Mike pitched in and helped. His assistants were wonderful! I loved how my pics came out! Mike was just the best and so were the assistants.
Officiant Rev. Rich Hasselbach.... I had my hesitations about him and if its one thing I learned during this process GO WITH YOUR GUT INSTINCTS! We did connect with him at first however I felt I had to do a lot of following up with him. We had our final meeting with him just one week before and went thru everything that would happen during the ceremony. I found his homily to be more of a class lesson then anything having to do w/ my husand and I. It was like following a bouncing ball. He went into a story about mythology and then brought up about Star Wars and that's when I had a big WTF on my face! He didn't mention anything I asked him to mention and in the end he pronounced our name incorrectly and everyone picked up on it :-( oh well what can I do. I am now in the midst of having to follow up with him AGAIN as the county clerks office still have yet to receive our license that he was supposed to have sent out. Some people here loved him. I personally was very disappointed.
My Dress was from Occassions in Bethel CT. Gail the owner was a doll and helped me out in so many ways. She understood my emotional turmoil from my mom not being able to be present during my fittings and her seamstress Martha did all she could to make me happy. While there was a bit of a language barrier w/ Martha. Once I explained my idea to Gail she was able to nail my vision. I wanted 3/4" sleeves. I just wanted an elegant look not like I was covering up. I felt aweseome in the dress and never felt prettier in my life. I'm so glad I changed things up and went with a new trend....I felt more bridal adding the 3/4" sleeves to my dress and have no regrets I did it.
My FI ...well my hubby now did cry at he first reveal. I didn't think he would.
He was really choked up and I was shocked. I kept it together but right after all the pics and before I was ready to walk down the aisle my nerves got to me.
I did my best to get around to everyone I could at the cocktail hour cause come hell or high water I was going to enjoy my long awaited reception. I know I feel like a bad bride but I'm done with the old fashioned way of doing things and when people saw me at the cocktail hour most people walked up to me -- for those who didn't what could I do but MAN did I have a BLAST at my reception.
Now if I can only figure out how in the world to post pics for you guys I will do it.
Remember I'm technically challenged so If somebody can help a sista out feel free.
That's it for now girls.. I can't believe a whole year to plan and POOF it was over in a flash. I loved every minute of it! Loved it. It was so worth some of the aggravation I had to go through. There is no greater feeling then being a bride! Lovedf it, loved it, loved it! I was sad when it was all over :-(
