The View on the Hudson, Piermont NY? Any reviews??

Had anyone been to a wedding at The View in Piermont NY that can give me their input on this place? I haven't seen many reviews about it and need to decide if I'm having my wedding here by this weekend! I really love it but wanted to know what others thought.

I know there are/were a few brides on here who have loved the place.  I was engaged 10 years ago (give or take) and almost booked with them.  I was happy I didn't because 2 friends who got married after me said they ran out of beer.  I'm getting married next month and called them again b/c FI loved the location - I found it funny that they have done no major renovations yet the room somehow can now hold MORE people now than it did 10 years ago.

im getting married in july at the view.. i love it... so nice and personable. they try cater a bride. i like it because one wedding a day... so im the princess at the view for the day. i have pics in my bio

I have heard a lot of great reviews and found a few negative ones that scared me. Although all together, there really isn't that many reviews of this place on the internet.

I really can't speak too much to them yet, but I booked there for Sept 2011.  There are a few other View brides on the boards who gave it great reviews.

I booked based on a few things that were important to me: being the only wedding that day, outdoor ceremony space, having an indoor ceremony back-up option that was also very pretty (it's right in front of the windows so you get the same view--lawyer has great pics of her gorgeous indoor ceremony) and it was on the water without being too far from N. Jersey, where most of my guests are coming from.

I think when it comes to booking, there are negative reviews on every place you can find! But I fell in love with it when I walked in and knew I had to get married there!

everyone who i talked to and had their wedding there had no complaints. the food is out of this world. i read the negative reviews also, but you will find negative reviews of any place. i have also been to the view as a guest and enjoyed it. to each it is own, but i find the place breath taking and have been treated by royality. i worked with ralph and i love him! last time i was his office i had an appointment at 6 and we didnt leave till 9:30. he listens, takes notes and makes sure your day is how you picture it. i highly recommend it. also rachiemoo and laywer707 i already had their wedding there. you might want to page them if you have my specific questions about day of stuff

I was just married there in Dec.  I loved the place, service, food.  I couldn't have asked for anything more.  However, Howard can sometimes be a bit to the point and can come off rude. 
Some of my guests tipped the wait staff because they were so impressed with the service.  Many of friends and family were amazed by the "view."

sorry I'm late... I LOVED the View... I got married there last September. Everything went off without one hitch and Howard literally waited on my DH and I hand and foot- we literally walked down the aisle and were handed champagne by Howard. I sweated and he made sure I got drinks and cold towels. The food was awesome and no one ran out of anything... in fact, he gave some of my family two entrees because they are all big men. It was just amazing and people are STILL raving about our wedding. I have nothing but positive things to say about the View...

I was married there in August 2008, for the most part I have very positive reviews, but I did have one *pretty big* problem with them, but hopefully it isn't a mistake they would make again.

Also, when I was married there they certainly did do more than one wedding a day, just only one wedding at a time.  So you could have a wedding before or after yours, depending if you choose an afternoon or evening wedding.  Not a huge deal, but mine was the evening event and I did feel like they were a bit rushed getting everything ready for me after the previous event, and also if you want to take pictures there or use their bridal room upstairs, you'd have to wait for the prior wedding to clear out, I didn't have any real issues in that regard.

Thank you all for your helpful responses, We decided on Saturday, after meeting with Howard that we would book there!! Very excited!!
