Bridal Stores - Westchester County.

My mom and sisters are coming in a couple of a weeks to take me dress "shopping." My wedding isn't until April 2012, but they are adament we need to start looking now. Who am I to say no? So, any recommendations where we should go?

Botticelli's -Bronxville-They have sample sales, but I didn't think they had much of a selection in the regular store when I went, but I've gotten a Vera Wang bridesmaid's dress there.

Meme's-Larchmont-I heard of this after I found my dress.

Fontana-Eastchester-I've heard the service can be questionable.

Can you take a ride into the city? There are so many places there- RK Bridal, Macy's Bridal Salon in Herald Square, Priscilla of Boston, Kleinfeld (Say Yes to the Dress-Kesha is awesome) and Pronovias ..

Mary Ann at MeMe's was great.  I didn't get my dress there, but that was the first place I went to and Mary Ann was very helpful and made it a great first experience and helped me narrow down my dress preferences.  All the dresses that I liked in pictures, I didn't like on me.

What designers are you looking at?

Re: designers, Maggie Sottero, possibly, although I'll admit, she and Vera Wang are the only wedding dress designers I can name. I'm a bit of a failure as a female.  I like strapless, A-line and elegant.

Meme's in larchmont was amazing. I went to Pricilla of Boston and Botticelli and although I had a goood experience at Botticelli they just did not have the style I was looking for. Also the saleswoman had me try on a Vera Wang and told me it was $3,000 and corrected herself and said it was $5,000 after I tried it on and fell madly in love with it.

I worked with Mary Ann from Meme's and she made the experience so much fun and so relaxing. It was like having a personal shopper.

According to the Maggie Sottero website, the stores in westchester that sell her designs are Botticelli in Bronxville, Meme's in Larchmont, Amelias in Mt Vernon (all as pp's has said). Also, La Sposa in Mahopac isn't too far from the  northern Westchester line (and they were really nice when I was shopping for my dress)

(I would not recommend the Galleria Bridal store (used to be Fara Bridal) in White Plains. While the people were ok, the store (both times I went, first there street location and then when they moved to the mall) it was not organized at all. If you want, I can send you a pm.)

The other thing I would suggest, since you have time, is maybe go to davids bridal to look at styles. Of course you might find your dream dress, but even if not you can go to an actual bridal store to see stuff in your size, and try on certain styles in a size that actually fits you.

But be honest with your salesperson that you are just looking.

Regardless of what designer youu go with, you should plan on purchasing your dress sometime late spring / early summer.

    Good luck!

I bought my maggie sottero from Amelias. Prior to going there, I tried botticelli but their selection of maggies was terrible and the serivce was poor.
