New York-Hudson Valley

chivari chairs highceilings outdoor reception venue

Hello knoties!
I know I am posting in the Hudson Valley :) I am interested in  having our reception and ceremony in the beautiful Hudson Valley. I have seen many NJ venues and we are looking for something a bit more countryish. I have been in Contact with Falkirk estate & the Garison. I will like to know if you know of any other hidden gems in the HV.

I am looking for high ceilings, bright airy room, chivari chairs and gorgeous grouds.

125 guests April 2012 :)
Thanks!!

Patriot Hills in Stony Point - gorgeous ballroom with lots of windows, high ceilings, chivari chairs, and it's on a golf course overlooking the mountains.

We booked in 2008 so I don't know what their prices are like these days. We went with a Friday in the off-season and paid 78pp before tax and tip.

Yes I did forget to mention that it's right off the Palisades.

As far as the food - we absolutely loved it. I really felt like it wasn't just typical wedding food. Our cocktail hour was absolutely enormous - borderline way too much food. The packages have changed since we booked, but they still offer so much, and it is so delicous.
Gina was our coordinator leading up to the wedding, and she is such a sweetheart. She made sure everything got done exactly how we wanted it.
Our maitre 'd that night was Mary, and she was also excellent. She was always right there with new drinks for us, and took good care of our families as well.

We really had a fabulous time there, and my husband and I always joke that we hope someone we know has a reception there so we can enjoy it as guests.

I am soooo excited I just booked the Falkirk Estate and Country Club.  WOW what a place, it's absolutely gorgeous...It's brand new, upscale and the services they offer surpass any other place we looked at and their menu is unbelievable.  We met with Jennifer and Matthew and both were just fantastic, they took the time to meet us on three different meetings, just so patient, kind and knowledgeable, we were all impressed.  They offer high end Chivari chairs, high ceiliings and the grounds are amazing, two gazebos, water features and the views are out of this world.....They have an outdoor terrace for cocktail hour and all throughout the evening - private.  We searched all over Orange, Rockland, parts of Westchester and North NJ and we kept coming back to Falkirk.  They worked with us a price in our budget, we are soooo happy with our decision and look forward to the planning.

My FI and I just looked at Patriot Hills a few weekends ago and fell in love with the place for the exact reason you are searching for in a venue. Since then, I've asked around on TK for reviews and I haven't heard of one bad review regarding the food or service. I haven't been able to attend a bridal expo there yet but I think they're having one in March. I've been in contact with Gina regarding it, she actually called me twice this week to discuss my availability for a private tasting if I can't make the next one. I asked for prices in August of 2012 and they start at $65(basic package with liquor) and go up from there. If you want any more info PM me, I also think I found a place in NJ as well that you might like ( I'm from NJ but currently living in NY) and will be attneding there expo pres day weekend.
