Engagement photos...

Does anyone have any good recommendations for places to get them taken In, or around the Boston area?? Also, any photographer recommendations? Are you generally supposed to use the same photographer for your engagement shoot and your wedding? If anyone would like to share links to theirs I would appreciate it..or you can PM them if you dont want them public...Thanks

We did ours at Wollaston Beach because it's right down the street from our house.  Castle Island is a popular place to do them, or lots of places around the city...depends on what you are looking for!  Usually you use the same photographer as for your wedding. It's a good way to get to know their style and to get comfortable with them.

You don't have to use the same photog for your engagement pics and wedding pics, but it's a good idea to use the same one for both. Your e-pic shoot is a good way to see how you get along with your photog beforehand and get an idea of how he or she works as well as seeing what their final work looks like.

Our photographer offers a fantastic package that includes both engagement pictures and wedding pictures, but I know she'll also do one or the other.  She's amazing and her prices are very very reasonble.

I don't know if this is too far for you, but we are thinking of getting our pictures taken at Crane Estate, the grounds there are beautiful, and there is a beach right next to it. As far as the photographer goes ditto on what PPs said, it's a good chance to get to know your wedding photographer but you can also use someone else (we are using the photogrpaher who usually does our family pictures).

I agree with everyone above.  You dont have to use the same photographer for both but its a good idea for you both to get a feel for each other.

We are using Portrait New England.  We have done our pics yet since both FI and I have such busy schds right now but I'm so excited for our two photogs to take our pics

We did ours in the Public Garden and they came out great! We're using Berry Photos and it was included with our wedding package.

I didnt do engagements because we planned from out of town but my coworker knows someone who used the same photographer as ours. Their pictures can be seen if you click here and if you click on the pictures then use your keyboard arrows you can see the rest.

We are also using Portrait New England (a husband and wife team) and our engagement session was included. I highly recommend it! It was a good opportunity for us to spend a few hours with our photographer and get to know them - plus they got to see how we act as well. We did ours at Castle Island - we chose that location because we like it, and it means something to us, but also because there were opportunities to take pictures with the water, the city skyline, the fort, and in the grass. We ended up getting so many different style pictures back.

I had my engagements photots taken yesterday. We went to the UMASS Boston Campus. It's one of those places that is simply a hidden gem. The scenry was absolutely gorgeous.  We got great shots of the City of Boston in the backdop, we were able to take photos over the an amazing body of water, we took picture lying in the grass, and some pictures infront of tall gorgeous willow. There is a wealth of sopts that make for great pics. My photographer is great is she is willing to work with any budget.
