Dessert Alternatives

Does anyone have any fun and unique suggestions for alternatives to wedding cake? (Other than cupcakes?)

We thought about doing an ice cream buffet, candy buffet, pastry buffet, or even different pies at each table!  In the end we did NOT do a wedding cake.  We just went with the dessert options at our venue (flan, flourless chocolate cake, & almond cake).  If possible, or maybe for a brunch or something, I really love the idea of a crepe station with different fruits & sauces (almost set up like an omelette station or something).

You can do anything you like!  :)

I am doing apple crisp because we are in the fall. I have seen some amazing weddings where they did pies at the tables. So cute!

When my cousin got married last fall they had just a very small two tier wedding cake to cut but they didn't serve it. Each guest got their own baked apple crisp in a little mini pie shell. I thought it was a good idea.

We had desserts and cake (total sweets overload!). For the dessert course, we had a duet plate of tiramisu and berries with torched sabayon. We also had a ton of Indian sweets.

If you and your FI are cheesecake fans, a spread of different cheesecakes would be delicious!

We also did passed desserts and wedding cake. Our desserts were strawberry shortcake, vanilla ice cream and chocolate chip cookies and cheesecake lollipops. We also had a candy buffet! Can you tell we love sweets??

We are having a dessert bar with Asian, French and Italian pastries as well as cupcakes. Tiramisu, cannolis, Boston creme pies, egg custards, fruit tarts, southern pecan pies, vanilla bean cheesecake, coconut cake, banana nutella cupcakes, eclairs, cream puffs and much. It was a more affordable option that served a wide variety of goodies.

We are doing an Ice Cream Sundae bar. We went to a wedding that had one and ever since have said we are going to have one! Neither my FI nor I like cake so we are not going to spend a ton of money on one. We do have a few lactose intolerant guests, so we are going to do a sheet cake (for those that prefer cake or cannot eat ice cream), our venue does not charge a cake cutting fee so that made it easier to decide.

FI isn't a huge cake fan, and I can definitely do without! So, we decided on doing brownies on a holder the shape of a sqaure cake! We are making them all ourselves and frosting them, the completing the look with fresh flowers on them! We are both HUGE brownie lovers! We are doing that and an ice cream bar as well!
