Wedding Cake

Hi ladies! I'm looking for some advice on wedding cake. My fiance and I went to Konditor Meister yesterday and were pleased with their cakes (most of them at least). I've heard bad things about Montillio's and he's heard good things. I'm curious who you would recommend in the Boston/Foxboro area.

You'll get 1/2 and 1/2 on the Montilio's/KM question on this board. It's really a matter of personal taste. I would suggest trying both and seeing which you like better.

Personally, I used Cakes to Remember in Brookline and they were awesome! Cake was delicious and beautiful.

Has anyone tried The Cake Lady (Dianne Rockwell)? She was also recommended but I only know one person who used her.

We tried both Montilio's and KM-- we liked the cakes better at Montilio's, and also they use real cannoli filling instead of icing in their cannoli's (KM does not) and since we are having a cannoli tower that was important to us. To be honest, when we walked into the Montilio's in Brockton it was the day before Thanksgiving and the place seemed to be going crazy. However they took great care of us and are reasonably priced.

Try both, try to hold judgment until after you taste the cake!

We tried both KM and Montillios.  We liked the taste better at KM, but the service was awful.  We ended up going with Sandy Cove in Scituate which was delish!  She did cupcakes for us.

A couple other options near Foxboro are  Dessert Works in Norwood and Ivy's in Canton. I havent tried either so I have no idea how they are so Im just throwing it out that they are in the area.

We also used Montilio's for our wedding cake and loved our cake.  We actually chose them over KM (had the option to use either for our package).  I have a review in my bio (under Vendor Reviews) along with pics of our actual cake (under Cake).  I would definitely check them out, plus who doesn't want more free cake :)

I know that I am a little late to the party for this, but we used Dessert Works in Norwood and they were fantastic! The cake was so good and they were such a pleasure to work with.

  • Dianne Rockwell is amazing- she is the one vendor for the whole wedding we didn't even look at other choices.
  • We went to Montilio's over the weekend and were SO disappointed. The guy we met with didn't introduce himself, didn't ask my fiance's name, and was very impersonal. He had us in and out in 20 minutes - that is including cake design, tasting and me trying to ask questions. Not to mention their cakes were terrible. Maybe it was an 'off' day but I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.
