oot baskets...which would you rather?

Hi ladies,

I have been thinking about my oot baskets and what I want to put in them. My wedding in on the cape so almost everyone will travel so I will have quite a few bags/baskets to make.

Which sounds better since I cant really do both:

1. a bag/basket with water, cape cod chips, salt water taffy, chocolate, candied crabnerries, etc along with a pamphelt of things in the area and weekend events.
OR
2. A bottle of wine per couple, with a personalized label of our wedding in hand sewn wine bag along with the same pamphlet and info.

The other option is the wine in a baset just with a couple bottles of water and the pamphlet and skip all the other stuff.

Thanks1

I love wine, but lots of people do not so I think you'll make more people smile with the bag/basket.

    Fun ideas :-)

I personally would love the wine more than the other stuff. But I also had a wedding on the Cape with lots of guests from out of the region, who were coming to the Cape for the first time. They would have LOVED that stuff in the other basket. HTH.

Strangely, I would pick basket 1.  Whenever I stay at a hotel I get the munchies and hate having to go out and find food.  Wine is always great, but sometimes snacks trump wine.

Personally, the wine. For a large variety of guests coming to the Cape?... definitely Number 1. Very cute.

I vote for snacks. Wine rocks, but when you've already had plenty of that at the reception, you really just want some potato chips before passing out.

#1: it has a broader appeal than the wine (which also sounds nice). I'm particularly sensitive to that because several of the people on our guest list do not drink for various reasons. HTH!

I vote for #1 also.  While a lot of people would love the wine, I can see #1 as being more universally favored--especially if there are any families/kids or older people.  The snacks are a great touch & EVERYONE loves snacks!!!  :)

I immediately thought - wow, wine! That is fantastic..but after thinking for a few more seconds I say water and munchies - just thinking about how much I crave that as opposed to more alcohol after a long night.

thanks for all the advice! What if I did the wine and the bag but put it in a basket with water, chips and chocolates but skipped the salt water taffies and cranberries.

The wedding is adult only, so no kids 70% of my guests are under 35 and drink. The other 35% are older family and parents friends all who also drink.

So is the mixture a better idea? As long as I put chips and candy in as well?

The wine with chocolate and chips is PERFECT!  Best of both worlds!

#1...I love having little snacks in the hotel room, plus it's Cape-themed!  The wine idea is a good one too but I like #1 better.

#1 what is better than salty and sweet and some water to help a hangover? :)

Great compromise! Can't beat that option!

leah6180...not a stupid question at all! The villas at the resort have full kitchens but the regular hotel rooms I should check out to see if they have them! Good call. I could get the $1 ones.

As a guest I would be grateful for either and I think they are both really cute ideas.  If I had to choose, I would choose #1.

The wine in basket #1 is a great idea.  You could also add Sam Adams beer to keep with the theme.  and I def 2nd whoever said water for the hangover.

Thanks again girls! I will go with the mixed version and I think I will add cape cod salt water taffies to add to the sweet!

I got the deal of the centuy last night at CTS...75 fall baskets for 36 bucks! They were originally 4 bucks each...i had so many in my car i could not see out of my windows and though I would die on the car ride home but it was a good feeling!
