help please

I already posted this on the DIY board and will probably post on the NH board but I seem to get a better response here.  I bought the wood letters at Michaels to spell out I DO but I am not sure what paint to use.  I tried spray paint but it just isnt working well so I am going to paint them.  However, when I walk down the aisle I am overwhelmed.  Recommendations?

Morning! This was one of my easiest DIY products...no stress! I used acrylic paint from Michaels - two little bottles will do the trick - but it took three coats to get the right color. Then I edged the letters in beads and covered with a gloss varnish.

GL and LMK if you need help.
Here's a photo of the finished project in action:

Chelley- what are you using them for? Sounds like a very cute project!

Thanks for the help.  I thought acryllic was the way to go.

I am using them for the cake table.  Our colors are apple red, a copperish color, and ivory so I am thinking the letters will be in copper with some sparkle.  The table linen is the reddish color.  I have seem many girls use it and thought it was a cute, simple idea.

I second the acrylic--it comes in a ton of colors in the little bottles.  It should be right around the lettters/other wood stuff.  The cheapo sponge brushes work well.

Thanks...I went with the FolkArt Metallic copper acryllic paint.  One coat into it and it is looking 100% better.  I also got a gloss finishing spray to finish it up.  Thank you for all the recommendations.  I appreciate the help
