Engagement ring on vacation?

Does anyone leave their engagement (or wedding band) home when they go on vacation? I definitely don't want to wear it when I go to the beach. My thinking is that if it slips off in the ocean, it's gone for good. My ring fits, but definitely gets slightly looser when my hands are cold. And I'm not entirely comfortable leaving it at the hotel.

After I'm married, I'll probably wear a costume jewelry simple band on vacation. But to wear a fake ering seems weird.

Thoughts? Thanks in advance.

We never made it to the beach on our honeymoon, so I always wore my real set. But I did bring a look-a-like set with me. I got it last year to have a fake e-ring to have for our beach vacation last year. It was $20 at target. Better to be safe than sorry!

I've worn mine for a week in Disney World, 2 weeks in Hawaii, and various day trips to the beach with no problems.  I might not wear it if I was going on a super adventurous vacation or a third world country (but I don't really see that happening ha).  I plan on wearing it on any other vacations though.  You have your ring insured, right?

I brought mine on vacation, but left them in the room when we went to the beach, or on excursions like ziplining.

I never took mine off for the honeymoon (except the shower) wore them in the pool, beach, snorkeling. I didn't have any problems but mine are snug.  All the girls I met while on the HM had their rings on as well.

I always leave mine home on vacation. My mom bought me a set from qvc but I'm thinking about it now and it's a size 8 and my ring size is a 7 now so I should probably order a new set before the HM in 3 weeks.

i purchased a plain white gold band to wear in this exact situations.  It is 10K and seriously cost me $60 from Kay.  I wore this on the HM and left my set home... We went to Mexico for our HM and I didn't want to give anyone a reason to think we were worth stealing from or kidnapping or something ridiculous like that!

I did see a lot of women with their sets on though while we were there.

It depends on where we're going. For our Alaska trip last year, I wore it. But I have substituted it for something cheaper(our honeymoon), traveling in the Caribbean. Sometimes it's just easier to leave it at home and not worry about it, regardless of whether it's insured or not. And mine is insured.

I don't ever take mine off.  I leave it on to go in the ocean, play sports, except softball (doesn't fit under my glove) but even then I wear it on a chain around my neck.
